Goa Public Service Commission has invited online applications through Advertisement No. 04 Year 2026, published on 10 April 2026, for filling up the post of Assistant Professor in Psychiatric Nursing. The post is at the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour, a premier mental healthcare and teaching institute under the Directorate of Health Services, Government of Goa. Essential Qualifications

• Education: Master's degree in Psychiatric Nursing recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC)
• Teaching Experience: Five (5) years of teaching experience in Nursing after post graduation
• Language: Knowledge of Konkani (the official language of Goa) is mandatory

Desirable Qualifications

• Doctorate: Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) in Nursing
• Additional Language: Knowledge of Marathi

Note: If suitable candidates with Konkani knowledge are not available, the Goa PSC may relax this requirement for Group 'A' posts in Professional Colleges with government approval.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: Not exceeding 45 years
• Age relaxation for government servants and reserved categories is available as per Goa government rules.

Salary

• Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level-11 (as per 7th CPC)
• Basic Pay Range: Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month
• Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance and other benefits as per Goa government rules
• Many faculty posts in nursing colleges are also eligible for Non-Practice Allowance (NPA) as per applicable rules

• Payment Mode: Online payment OR Offline through e-challan at any SBI branch in Goa

Selection Process

Goa PSC will select candidates through shortlisting and a personal interview. There is no written exam for this post.

1. Shortlisting: If the number of applications is large, the Commission will shortlist candidates as per the criteria in the "Instructions" published on the GPSC website. Merely meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview call.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview before the Commission.
3. Document Verification: Original certificates will be verified before the final recommendation.

7. Candidates paying via e-challan must produce the stamped e-challan at the Commission's office on or before 24 April 2026.
