Government Medical College (GMC), Haldwani is hiring 44 Senior Resident, Senior Resident (Super Speciality & Radiology) and Junior Resident posts through walk-in interviews. If you have an MBBS, MD/MS, M.Ch., DM, DNB or Ph.D. with State Medical Council / MCI registration, you can attend the walk-in. The salary ranges from Rs. 71,257 to Rs. 1,20,000 per month. Walk-ins are held every Friday for SR (15 May to 31 July 2026) and every Thursday for JR (14 May to 30 July 2026), from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Government Medical College, Haldwani (Nainital), Uttarakhand has invited eligible doctors for walk-in interviews to fill 44 Resident posts across General Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, OBG, Anaesthesiology, Psychiatry, TB & Chest, Radio Diagnosis, Neuro Surgery, Nephrology, Cardiology, Urology, and Plastic Surgery. No T.A./D.A. is admissible for attending the interview. The appointment is contractual, initially for one year (SR may be extended up to 3 years; JR for 1 year only).

The Government Medical College, Haldwani reserves the right to increase or decrease the posts as per needs. Reservation is as per Uttarakhand State Government rules.
Who Can Apply?
For Senior Resident and SR (Super Speciality & Radio Diagnosis):
- Qualification: As per NMC norms (PG degree — MD / MS / DNB in the relevant specialty for SR; M.Ch. / DM / DNB Super Speciality for Super Speciality posts)
- Registration: Must be registered with State Medical Council / Medical Council of India — without this you will not be allowed to appear in the interview
For Junior Resident:
- Qualification: M.B.B.S. as per NMC norms
- Registration: Must be registered with State Medical Council / MCI
Age Limit
- Maximum age: Below 45 years as on 01/07/2026 (as per NMC norms) for all three posts

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview)
Selection is purely through a walk-in interview. There is no written exam.

Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in OPD, IPD, ward rounds, and emergency duty as per the assigned specialty
- Assist consultants and senior faculty in surgeries, procedures, and clinical decision-making
- Supervise junior doctors, interns, and nursing staff in the unit
- Maintain accurate medical records, case sheets, and discharge summaries
- Participate in teaching MBBS and PG students through bedside teaching and lectures
- Conduct clinical research and present cases in departmental academic meetings
- Follow hospital infection control, biomedical waste, and patient safety protocols
- Take up on-call duty including nights, weekends, and emergencies as per the duty roster
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
MBBS (for Junior Resident) or PG Degree — MD/MS/M.Ch./DM/DNB/Ph.D. (for Senior Resident) as per NMC norms, with State Medical Council / MCI registration
Preferred Qualification
DM/M.Ch./DNB for Super Speciality posts
Required Skills
Clinical skills, patient care, surgical/diagnostic skills as per specialty, teaching ability
