Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) Teaching Personnel Recruitment 2026 - 20 Posts

The College of Basic Sciences & Humanities at GBPUAT, Pantnagar has invited applications for 20 Teaching Personnel positions to teach during the 1st Semester of Academic Year 2026-27. The posts span nine subject areas including Chemistry, Environmental Science, Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science, and Social Science & Humanities. No written test is required — selection happens purely through a walk-in interview. This is a good opportunity for Ph.D. holders and NET/SLET-qualified candidates who want teaching experience at a well-known agricultural university.

These positions are engaged purely on a need basis for one semester — the University has clearly stated it may increase, decrease, or choose not to fill any of the announced posts, depending on actual teaching requirements at the time of the interview. If you are a research scholar who has recently completed your Ph.D., or a Master's degree holder looking to gain classroom teaching experience before applying for full-time faculty roles elsewhere, this is a practical way to build your academic profile at a recognized institution.

Vacancy Breakdown by Discipline

  • Mathematics, Statistics & Computer Science: 5 posts
  • Chemistry: 3 posts
  • Social Science & Humanities: 3 posts
  • Environmental Science: 2 posts
  • Other Disciplines (Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Plant Physiology, English): 7 posts (combined)

Posts are notified across reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and Unreserved (UR), including seats reserved for women candidates domiciled in Uttarakhand, along with general Unreserved seats, as per the University's applicable reservation policy for each discipline. Note: The College reserves the right to increase, decrease, or not fill any of these positions at its discretion.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need a Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in the subject concerned, OR a Master's degree in the relevant discipline with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade point.
  • Relaxation: A 5% relaxation in marks is given at the graduate and Master's level for SC/ST and differently-abled (physically and visually) candidates.
  • NET/SLET: Where NET/SLET is conducted by ICAR/UGC/CSIR or any other Central/State government agency for that discipline, it becomes a compulsory qualification.
  • Fallback Rule: If no Ph.D. or NET/SLET-qualified candidate is available for a discipline, a first-class M.Sc. degree in the related subject will be considered.
