FREMAA Hydro-Informatics Engineer Recruitment 2026 - 3 Posts

Flood and River Erosion Management Agency of Assam (FREMAA), an autonomous society of the Government of Assam, has released a detailed advertisement for 3 contractual Hydro-Informatics Engineer positions under the World Bank aided Assam Integrated River Basin Management Project (AIRBMP). The selected engineers will work with the Hydro-Informatics Unit (HIU), which supports flood forecasting, water resources assessment, river basin modelling, surveys, and state water information systems.

River/Basin Modeler - Hydrological Modelling

River/Basin Modeler - Morphology and Sediment Transport

• Qualification: You need M.Tech, ME, or M.Sc in Hydrology, Water Resources, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Skills: Experience in morphological and sediment transport modelling using MIKE21C, MIKE21FM, Delft3D, HEC-HMS, TELEMAC, or similar tools is useful.
• Programming: Knowledge of R, Python, or MATLAB is desirable.
• Experience: You need 2 years of proven experience in related activities.

Database Engineer

• Qualification: You need M.Tech or ME in Computer Science, IT, or a relevant field.
• Skills: Database management knowledge in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar systems is useful.
• Technical background: Data structures and computer programming knowledge are part of the role.
• Experience: You need 2 years of proven experience in related activities.

Salary

• Monthly salary: Rs. 60,000 consolidated, inclusive of local taxes.
• Annual increase: Up to 10% increment in subsequent years.
• Field travel: TA/DA will be provided as per admissible rules for official travel outside the HIU office.
• Contract duration: Initially 2 years, renewable based on performance and project requirement.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Work Location and Role

• Base location: The HIEs will be based at the HIU, WRD in Guwahati.
