ESIS Mulund Doctor Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Maharashtra Employees State Insurance Society (MH-ESIS) Hospital at Mulund (West), Mumbai is holding a walk-in to hire contract doctors as a Senior Resident in Orthopaedics, a Part Time Specialist in Paediatrics and a Medical Officer. The hospital is run under the Government of Maharashtra and serves workers insured under the ESI scheme. All three posts are interviewed on the same morning at the hospital, so you can only appear once and should pick the post your degree fits.

Each post fills a gap left in a larger sanctioned strength. The Orthopaedics unit currently has no Senior Residents in place, while Paediatrics and the Medical Officer cadre are short by only a couple of doctors each.

Posts and Disciplines

• Senior Resident (Orthopaedics): a full-time residency post in the orthopaedics department for doctors with an MS in Orthopaedics and active registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC). This is the only post with a lower upper age cut-off.
• Part Time Specialist (Paediatrics): a session-based specialist post of 4 hours a day, 6 days a week, with extra pay when you take emergency calls. This post is reserved for the SC category.
• Medical Officer: a general duty post open to any MBBS graduate, reserved for the unreserved (UR) category.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tenure: The engagement is purely contractual for a term of 364 days and gives you no claim to regularisation in the hospital.
• Agreement: Before joining, you sign an agreement of terms and conditions on a Rs. 500 stamp paper that you buy yourself.
• No service benefits: You get no provident fund, pension, gratuity, medical attendance, seniority, promotion or leave encashment. No other allowance is paid beyond the stated monthly amount.
• Professional indemnity: You must hold a professional indemnity policy for the whole contract, with a minimum cover of Rs. 20 lakh for surgeons and Rs. 10 lakh for non-surgeons. Submit a copy of the policy and premium receipt within 7 days of joining.
• Termination: The appointment ends automatically if a regular doctor joins the post, and the Medical Superintendent can terminate you for breaking the rules during the term.
• Reservation: Reservation follows Government of Maharashtra rules. If no candidate from the reserved category turns up, the post can go to a candidate of another category from the merit list.
• Duties and posting: The Medical Superintendent decides the duty schedule for all three posts and may increase, reduce or cancel any post without giving a reason.
• Future rules: You must follow any new rules issued by the CEO, MH-ESIS, Mumbai during your contract.
