The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, runs the ESIC Hospital at Udyogamandal, Ernakulam. The Medical Superintendent is conducting a walk-in interview to engage 42 doctors on contract across three levels - Super Specialist, Specialist and Senior Resident. Who Can Apply?

Super Specialist (Cardiology / Oncology)

• Cardiology: MBBS with MD and DM/DNB in Cardiology.
• Oncology: MBBS with MCh/DM/DNB in Medical Oncology. If no oncologist is available, a specialist with a radiotherapy qualification (MD RT / DNB RT or Diploma in RT) and 3 years (degree) or 5 years (diploma) of experience may be considered.

Specialist

• MBBS with a PG degree (or equivalent) in the concerned specialty. For ICU, a PG degree/diploma in Critical Care, Anaesthesia, General Medicine or Pulmonary Medicine. For Casualty, preference to a PG in Critical Care.
• Experience: PG Degree with 3 years, or PG Diploma with 5 years, in the specialty after PG.

Senior Resident (1 Year)

• PG Degree or PG Diploma in the concerned specialty. Doctors with MBBS plus 2 years' experience in the specialty (in Govt/reputed hospitals) may be considered if PG candidates are not available.
• If you have already completed 3 years of Senior Residency in any Government institute, you need not appear for the SR interview.

Age Limit

• Super Specialist and Specialist: Up to 69 years as on the date of interview.
• Senior Resident: Up to 45 years as on the date of interview.
• Age relaxation for reserved categories is as per government rules.

Salary

• Super Specialist (Full Time): Rs. 2,00,000 (entry) to Rs. 2,40,000 (senior) per month.
• Specialist (Full Time): Rs. 1,53,275 (entry) to Rs. 1,76,541 (senior) per month.
• Senior Resident: Rs. 1,53,275 (PG degree), Rs. 1,51,925 (PG diploma) or Rs. 1,51,025 (MBBS with 2 years' experience) per month.
• Part Time Super Specialist: Rs. 1,00,000 (entry) to Rs. 1,50,000 (senior); Part Time Specialist: Rs. 60,000 per month (4 hours x 4 days a week).

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview)

There is no written exam. Doctors are selected through a walk-in interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Report at the hospital on 7 July 2026 at 9:00 AM with your form and documents.
2. Document Verification: Original certificates, registration and experience proof are checked.
3. Final Selection: Based on the interview and your eligibility.

If a reserved-category candidate is not available, the post may be filled by a UR candidate for 45 days. The Medical Superintendent can increase, decrease or cancel vacancies on the day of the interview.
