DRDO LRDE Paid Internship Recruitment 2026 - 75 Seats

Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE), Bengaluru, is a DRDO laboratory under the Ministry of Defence. The internship notice is LRDE Advertisement No. 02/2026/Internship (P) for the 2026-27 paid internship scheme. The programme gives selected students short-term exposure to radar technologies, RF systems, AI, embedded software, mechanical design, power supplies, and related defence R&D areas.

Who Can Apply?

For BE / B.Tech Students

• Nationality: You must be an Indian national.
• Course stage: You should have completed or appeared in the third year / sixth semester term-end exams.
• Marks: You need at least 70% marks or equivalent in the first 3 years or first to sixth semester in aggregate.
• Allowed branches: EC, ME, CS, CE, and EE branches listed in the notification.

For ME / M.Tech / M.Sc Students

• Course stage: You should have completed or appeared in the first year / second semester term-end exams.
• Marks: You need at least 70% marks or equivalent in the first year or first and second semester in aggregate.
• College route: The application must come through your college with a request letter. Direct applications from students are not accepted.

Project Areas Mentioned in the Notice

• EC: RF design, photonics module design, testing and automation, FPGA, signal processing, embedded software, radar engineering, reliability engineering, radome design, metasurface antenna design, and digital antenna arrays.
• ME: Precision machining, mechanical design techniques, reliability engineering, and mechanical quality design with simulations.
• CS: AI, deep learning, Python tools for radar testing, and AI/ML work.

Stipend

• Monthly stipend: Rs. 5,000 fixed.
• Total stipend for 6 months: Rs. 30,000.
• Payment schedule: Rs. 15,000 after 3 months and Rs. 15,000 after 6 months, based on technical evaluation.
• Stipend will be paid directly to the selected student's bank account.

Selection Process

LRDE has not announced a written exam for this internship. Selection will depend on shortlisting by LRDE based on the application, marks, branch, project fit, and documents submitted through the college.

1. Application Screening: LRDE checks whether you meet the branch, marks, course-stage, and document requirements.
2. Shortlisting: LRDE may use its own shortlisting criteria and is not required to shortlist every student who meets the minimum marks.
3. Intimation: Selected students are expected to be informed on 15 July 2026.
4. Joining and Document Verification: You must report on the prescribed date with original marksheets, college letter, Aadhaar, ID, photos, police verification, bank passbook copy, and undertakings.

Important condition: LRDE can increase or decrease the number of seats, change the shortlisting method, or cancel the process if required. You should apply only if you can report on the prescribed date and complete the full internship period.

• Work on the assigned radar, electronics, software, mechanical, civil, or electrical project topic
• Attend LRDE office for training for at least 15 days in a month
• Assist scientists and project guides with design, testing, analysis, simulation, or documentation tasks
• Prepare technical notes, progress updates, and project summaries as required by the guide
• Follow DRDO security, IT, confidentiality, and Official Secrets Act rules during the internship
• Maintain discipline and complete the full internship tenure from August 2026 to January 2027
