Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL) is a premier research laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, located at Chandrayangutta, Hyderabad. Under the Government of India's internship scheme, DLRL is offering 75 paid internship seats across three engineering disciplines for the academic year 2026-2027. This is an offline application — you need to send your filled form by post. Final year engineering students from recognised colleges across India can apply for this opportunity to work at one of India's top defence research labs.

Vacancy Breakdown by Discipline

• Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE): 40 seats
• Computer Science Engineering (CSE): 25 seats
• Mechanical Engineering: 10 seats

Note: The number of vacancies are tentative. If suitable candidates are not available in one discipline, vacancies may be adjusted to another discipline.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must be a student going to the final year B.E./B.Tech in the academic year 2026-2027, in one of these branches — Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• No Backlogs: Students with any backlogs are not eligible.
• Sponsorship Required: You must submit a referral/sponsorship letter from your college Principal on the institution's letterhead along with your application.
• NOC Required: After selection, you need to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your college Principal confirming you will be relieved for the internship and will attend for a minimum of 15 working days per month.

Stipend

• Total stipend: Rs. 30,000 for the full 6-month internship period
• Rs. 15,000 after completion of 3 months
• Rs. 15,000 after completion of 6 months
• Subject to a minimum attendance of 15 days per month
• All other expenses — lodging, boarding, transport, medical — will be borne by the intern
• Note: Completion of this internship does NOT guarantee employment in DRDO.

Selection Process

Selection is merit-based — no written exam is conducted:

1. Merit List: Based on cumulative marks percentage or CGPA obtained up to 3rd year 1st semester. Higher percentage = higher priority.
2. Tie-breaking Rule: If two candidates have the same marks, the elder candidate (by date of birth) gets preference.
3. Interview/Interaction: May be conducted if required, at DLRL's discretion.

Selected students will be notified only through the email ID provided in the application form. No communication will be sent to unselected candidates.

2. Fill in the form in capital letters and affix your latest passport-size photograph.
3. Get the Referral/Sponsorship Letter signed by your college Principal with college seal, including your marks details.
4. Collect all required documents: Aadhar Card, College ID, Bonafide Certificate, and Marks Sheets (till 3rd year 1st Semester).
5. Put all documents in an envelope and write on the envelope: "Application for Paid Internship with Discipline [your branch]".
6. Send your application by post to:
