The Office of the District Programme Officer, Auraiya, under the Uttar Pradesh Department of Child Development Services and Nutrition, has released a direct recruitment notice for 292 Anganwadi Karyakatri and 181 Anganwadi Sahayika honorarium-based posts. These vacancies are spread across 8 Child Development Projects in the district — Achhalda, Bidhuna, Sahar, Erwakatra, Ajitmal, Bhagynagar, Auraiya Rural, and Auraiya City. Only women candidates who are permanent residents of the specific ward or gram sabha where a vacancy exists can apply for that vacancy — you cannot apply for a vacancy outside your own area. Who Can Apply?

• Gender: Only women candidates are eligible for both Anganwadi Karyakatri and Sahayika posts.
• Qualification: You need at least an Intermediate (12th) pass or an equivalent qualification for either post — this is the minimum requirement for both Karyakatri and Sahayika vacancies.
• Domicile: You must be a permanent resident of the ward/gram sabha where the vacancy exists — you can only apply for the vacancy in your own area.
• Merit: Selection is based on merit, calculated from your Intermediate percentage marks — the higher your marks, the better your rank on the merit list.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 1 July 2026.
• Your age will be verified using the date of birth recorded in your High School marksheet/certificate — no other document will be considered for age proof.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through a merit list based on your Intermediate marks, with special priority given in this order within the same gram sabha/ward:

1. Widow (BPL): Widowed candidates under the BPL category get first priority.
2. Divorced/Abandoned (BPL): Divorced or abandoned women under BPL get second priority.
3. BPL Candidate: Other BPL candidates from the same gram sabha/ward.
4. Widow (APL): Widowed candidates under APL.
5. Divorced/Abandoned (APL): Divorced or abandoned women under APL.
6. APL Candidate: Remaining APL candidates from the same gram sabha/ward.

To claim widow status, you need a death certificate issued by the Gram Panchayat Officer or the concerned municipal body, along with a certified copy of your family register. For divorced/abandoned status, a legal order issued by the court is required. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC categories will also be applied as per government rules. Note: A family cannot have both a Karyakatri and a Sahayika selected at the same Anganwadi centre.
