DME WB Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

DME West Bengal, through the Department of Health & Family Welfare, has issued an engagement order for non-sponsored doctors who completed post-doctoral courses at West Bengal University of Health Sciences in 2026. This is not a fresh open application window: the order assigns doctors already named in its annexure to Senior Resident positions at government medical colleges and teaching institutions across West Bengal.

The annexure separates doctors who attended counselling from those who did not, but both tables carry an assigned institution for each person. Your annexure entry is the controlling record for the discipline and hospital where you have been placed. The engagement begins from the date you join, after the receiving institution completes its checks and accepts your reporting.

• Neurology and Neuro Surgery: resident duties in neurological medicine, emergency evaluation and operative neuroscience services.
• Gastroenterology and Surgical Gastroenterology: physician and surgical placements for complex digestive-system care.
• Endocrinology and Rheumatology: specialist medical work involving hormonal, metabolic and autoimmune conditions.

Post-wise Duties

Medical Super-specialities

You will assess patients, plan investigations with the supervising unit and support rounds, clinics and emergency referrals. Your work also includes accurate case records and coordination with other departments when a patient needs multi-speciality care.

Surgical Super-specialities

You will take part in pre-operative assessment, operating-theatre work and post-operative monitoring under the assigned department. Safe handover and timely escalation are central to these resident duties, especially for emergency and intensive-care cases.

Neonatal and Paediatric Services

You will support age-appropriate clinical decisions, communicate carefully with families and work with anaesthesia, imaging and intensive-care teams. Close observation and clear documentation are particularly important when caring for newborns and children.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Named candidates only: the order applies to doctors listed in Table A or Table B and does not invite new applications from the public.
• Assigned institution: each doctor must join the medical college or teaching institution shown against their name; the order does not offer a fresh choice of posting.
• Bond compliance: original academic records retained by the pass-out institution are not to be released until the applicable bond period is completed or the bond amount is paid and departmental clearance is obtained.
• Joining travel: no travelling allowance is payable for reporting to the assigned institution.
• Administrative update: the receiving institution must record the doctor's joining on the departmental system after deployment.

Application Submission Notes

Named doctors should report directly to the Director, Principal or MSVP of the institution shown in the annexure. This reporting is the joining action for the engagement; there is no public online form or separate application portal.

The institution will check the credentials needed for clinical appointment before placing the doctor on duty. Contact the assigned college if you need reporting-hour or unit-location guidance, because the state order identifies the institution but does not provide a common reporting desk for every placement.

• Follow hospital safety, infection-control and professional-conduct rules
