District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Tiruchirappalli Protection Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Tiruchirappalli has released a notification to fill 1 Protection Officer (Institutional Care) post on a temporary one-year contract basis under the Mission Vatsalya scheme of the Government of Tamil Nadu. This is a single-post recruitment for candidates with a social work or related background who want to work in child protection and welfare. Both postgraduates and experienced graduates can apply.

Who Can Apply?

You can apply if you meet either of these two qualification options:

Option 1 — Post Graduate Degree (No experience needed)

• A Master's degree (10+2+3+2) in Social Work, Sociology, Child Development, Human Rights, Public Administration, Psychology, Psychiatry, Public Health, or Community Resource Management from a recognised university.

Option 2 — Graduate Degree + 2 Years Experience

• A Bachelor's degree (10+2+3) in any of the above subjects from a recognised university, plus 2 years of experience in project formulation, implementation, monitoring, or supervision.
• Experience in the field of Women and Child Development / Social Welfare is preferred.

Other Requirements

• You must have proficiency in computers.

Age Limit

• You must not have completed 42 years of age as on 1 March 2026.

Salary

• You will get a fixed monthly salary of Rs. 27,804.
• This is a 1-year contract post under the Mission Vatsalya scheme.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on:

1. Application Screening: Your qualification, experience, and submitted documents are checked.
2. Merit and Document Verification: Candidates are shortlisted based on eligibility. Preference is given to those with experience in Women and Child Development or Social Welfare.
