DCPU Tiruppur Support Person Recruitment 2026: Overview
The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Tiruppur, under the Tamil Nadu Department of Child Welfare and Special Services, is building a panel of Support Persons for children affected by sexual offences. These are children whose cases fall under the POCSO Act, 2012. The drive follows the POCSO Rules, 2020 and the state's G.O. (Ms) No. 23 of 12 August 2026 from the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department.
As a Support Person, you stand beside a child during the police investigation and the court case. You make sure the child gets help and guidance at every step. This is case-based work, not a monthly-salaried job — you are paid only for the cases the DCPU assigns to you.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Term: A Support Person is engaged for three years.
- Payment per case: The honorarium is paid case by case, in instalments, and it already includes your travel costs.
- No case, no pay: No honorarium is paid for any period when no case is assigned to you.
- Organisations can apply too: Besides individuals, qualified organisations working in child protection may apply for this role.
- Child-first approach: You must keep the child's best interest, safety and rights first in everything you do.

Download the Support Person application form from tiruppur.nic.in and fill it in. Attach copies of your supporting documents. Then hand it in at the office or send it by post to District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Room No. 705, 7th Floor, District Collectorate, Tiruppur – 641604. The form must reach the DCPU office by the closing date.
Responsibilities
- Support the child through the police investigation and court proceedings in POCSO cases
- Coordinate with the police, Child Welfare Committee (CWC), DCPU, hospitals and courts on each case
- Help the child get medical care, counselling, education and rehabilitation services
- Keep the child and family informed about how the case is moving
- Put the child's best interest, safety and rights first in every decision
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Sociology, Law, Psychology, Child Development or any other relevant field related to child welfare, health or education; OR a Graduate with at least 3 years of experience in work related to child education, development, health or protection
