NHM Birbhum Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Birbhum District Health & Family Welfare Samiti, working under the office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH), Birbhum, is filling posts under the National Health Mission (NHM) for the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal. Most of the openings are for the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) Mobile Health Teams (MHT) across the district, plus one city health post under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM). All engagements are purely contractual, and selection is mainly on academic marks, so AYUSH doctors and diploma pharmacists from West Bengal who can speak Bengali are the main audience.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Medical Officer AYUSH (MHT) under RBSK — Male: a separate list only for male BHMS, BAMS or BUMS doctors, posted anywhere in Birbhum district through counselling on final merit.
  • Medical Officer AYUSH (MHT) under RBSK — Female: the same role filled from a separate list for female candidates; one post is reserved for a person with benchmark disability.
  • Pharmacist under RBSK: for D.Pharm (Allopathic) holders registered with the West Bengal Pharmacy Council; posts follow the 2026 100-point roster and are allotted across the district by counselling.
  • Public Health Manager under NUHM: a single unreserved post at Sainthia Urban Local Body (ULB), for graduates in health, life science, economics, public health or health-care management with programme-management experience.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Domicile: You must be a permanent resident of West Bengal to apply for any post.
  • Bengali is compulsory: You must be able to read, write and speak Bengali; the notice repeats this for every post.
  • Contractual only: These are NHM contract posts, not regular state government jobs.
  • Panel validity: The merit panel stays valid for up to one year from approval by the District Level Selection Committee (DLSC), so later vacancies may be filled from it.
  • West Bengal certificates only: Caste, EWS and disability certificates must be issued by a competent West Bengal authority on or before the last date; claims made after applying are not accepted.
  • OBC list: OBC eligibility follows the West Bengal Backward Classes Welfare notification Labr/85-Emp/EC/1M-01/2025 dated 25.05.2026, and is subject to the outcome of pending court cases.
  • Experience counting: Experience is counted only after you obtain the required qualification, up to the last date of the online form.
  • Extra marks: An MD in Homoeopathy, Ayurveda or Unani adds marks for the AYUSH posts, and a B.Pharm or M.Pharm adds marks for the Pharmacist post.
