Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) Research Associate Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN), a central university set up by an Act of Parliament in 2009, has opened 1 Research Associate position to work on a HEFA-CSR sponsored research project. The project is titled "Youth, Media and Digital Literacy: An Intervention Study Addressing Digital Media Influence on Undergraduate College Students in Thiruvarur District." This is a purely temporary, project-based role that runs as long as the project funds are available. It is a great fit if you have a media or digital communication background and want hands-on research experience.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have an M.A. in Mass Communication or M.Sc. in Electronic Media (or an equivalent degree in a related field) from a recognised university or institution, with at least 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA.
• Plus: You also need NET / M.Phil. / Ph.D. and at least two years of research experience — this can be academic experience as a Research Assistant in a project, or relevant industry/institutional experience.
• Research Area: Digital Media or any related area.

Desirable (extra points)

• Research experience in the relevant area
• Knowledge of video production
• Proficiency in Tamil for fieldwork in the project area

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years
• Age relaxation will be given as per Government of India norms.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated monthly fellowship of Rs. 47,000.
• This is a fixed (consolidated) amount — there are no separate allowances added on top.

Selection Process

Selection is done in two simple steps:
