Selection Process

CUSB will shortlist candidates based on their academic score as per UGC Regulations 2018 (Table 3A in Annexure-II). If a department receives a very large number of applications, the university may also conduct a written test or adopt a marking system to narrow down the shortlist. Shortlisted candidates will then be called for an interview, which may include a seminar or lecture presentation to assess teaching ability. The final selection rests entirely on interview performance.

Departments Hiring

Vacancies span a wide range of disciplines. The School of Agriculture and Development is hiring across Agriculture, Plant Pathology, Soil Science, Entomology, Agronomy, Horticulture, Agricultural Economics, Livestock Production Management, Farm Machinery, and Genetics. Other schools with openings include Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science, Physical and Chemical Sciences, Earth, Biological and Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences and Policy, Human Sciences, Law and Governance, Languages and Literature, Media, Arts and Aesthetics, Management, and Education.

Each department has specific reservation categories (UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD) for each post. You will find the complete department-wise and category-wise breakdown in the official notification. Candidates who previously applied under Advertisement No. CUSB/Advt./43/2024 need to apply afresh but are exempted from paying the fee again.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures and conduct tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the assigned department
  • Guide and supervise research scholars working toward M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees
  • Conduct original research and publish findings in peer-reviewed and UGC-listed journals
  • Participate in curriculum development, academic planning, and syllabus revision activities
  • Contribute to university administration through committee memberships and departmental coordination
  • Engage in extension activities, seminars, conferences, and workshops organized by the university
  • Evaluate student performance through examinations, viva voce, and continuous assessment methods
  • Mentor students on academic and career development matters

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Ph.D. in relevant discipline with Master's degree (55% marks) as per UGC Regulations 2018

Preferred Qualification

NET/SLET/SET qualified; minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals for Professor and Associate Professor posts

Required Skills

Teaching and research experience in relevant discipline, publications in peer-reviewed journals, ability to guide doctoral candidates

Professor: Minimum 10 years teaching experience in University/College as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates. Associate Professor: Minimum 8 years of teaching and/or research experience. Assistant Professor: No experience required but must have cleared NET/SLET/SET or hold a Ph.D. as per UGC norms.

  • Foreign Ph.D. holders: Must have AIU Equivalence Certificate from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi
