IIIT Bhagalpur Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhagalpur (IIIT Bhagalpur) is offering Graduate and Technician Apprentice training across its academic, technical and administrative units. The programme runs under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and is designed as workplace training rather than a regular institute appointment. You can choose a unit that matches your degree or diploma, from engineering laboratories and computing support to library, finance and general administration.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Computer Science and Engineering: Work with the academic unit supporting computer science and information technology activities.
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering: Train around electronics, telecommunications and instrumentation-related academic work.
  • Mechatronics and Automation Engineering: Support a unit combining mechanical, electrical and automation systems.
  • Mathematics and Computing: Assist a department that connects mathematical work with computing and information technology.
  • Library: Learn day-to-day library and information-service operations in an institute environment.
  • Finance and Accounts: Gain exposure to routine accounts records, bills and office finance workflows.
  • Computer Centre and Website Management: Help with campus computing services and website-related support.
  • Administration: Train in general office coordination, records and institutional processes.
  • Store and Purchase: Support inventory, purchase records and the movement of materials.

Post-wise Duties

Engineering and Computing Apprentices

You will support the assigned laboratory, department or computer facility and learn its technical workflows. Your work may include keeping records, helping with equipment or systems and assisting staff with unit activities suited to your discipline.

Library, Finance and Office Apprentices

You will learn the practical routines of your assigned service or administrative unit. This may involve organising records, checking entries, supporting files and helping the unit handle its regular workload under supervision.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Training status: The apprenticeship does not create a right to regular employment at IIIT Bhagalpur.
  • Prior apprenticeship: Applicants who have already completed, registered for or are undergoing apprenticeship training elsewhere cannot join this programme.
  • Recent qualification: Your qualifying degree or diploma must fall within the recency window stated in the advertisement.
  • Training assignment: The institute will place each selected apprentice in a section, department or unit for on-the-job training.
  • Facilities: The institute will not provide accommodation or travel support during the training period.
  • Communication: Updates and engagement correspondence will be sent by email, so your address must remain active and accurate.
  • Bank details: Your Aadhaar-linked bank account must support Direct Benefit Transfer, and identity details must match across your records.

Application Submission Notes

Only applications made through the NATS 2.0 portal will enter the engagement process; the institute will not accept another application route. Make sure your NATS profile, Aadhaar details and bank information are consistent before you apply.

For a portal-related question, contact recruitment@iiitbh.ac.in before the application window closes. Keep checking your email, including the spam folder, and the institute website for later updates.
