The openings sit in Signal and Telecom, Safety, Electrical Traction, Electrical and Mechanical systems, and Public Relations. Each post has its own eligibility track for government officers, metro or PSU staff, and private-sector candidates. If you come from the private sector, your company must have handled a large project or a big annual turnover, and you must prove it while applying.

  • Additional General Manager (Safety, Operations and Maintenance): for an engineer who has worked in the safety organisation of Indian Railways or a metro.
  • Manager (Telecom): for an ECE or EEE engineer with hands-on work on railway or metro telecom systems.

Post-wise Duties

General Manager (Signal and Telecom)

You will lead the installation, testing, commissioning and operation of signalling and telecom systems, covering electronic interlocking, CBTC and automatic signalling, track detection, the optical-fibre backbone, IP exchanges, public address and surveillance. You will also handle tendering and contract management for these systems.

Additional General Manager (Safety, Operations and Maintenance)

You will run metro safety under the statutory rules, including the Metro Railways General Rules. That means carrying out safety audits and inspections, investigating incidents and accidents, organising mock drills and safety training, checking staff fitness and competency, and coordinating with the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety.

Manager (Telecom)

You will design, install, test, commission and maintain metro telecom systems: the OFC backbone, digital and IP exchanges, access control, display boards, wireless transmission, networking, PA and CCTV.

Manager (Electrical Traction)

You will look after the design, erection, testing and maintenance of traction power: overhead equipment or third rail, 110/66/25 kV traction substations, the traction SCADA system, site inspections and Electrical Inspectorate approvals.

Manager (Electrical and Mechanical)

You will handle MEP and E&M works, including LT/HT distribution, lighting, earthing, ventilation and air-conditioning, fire systems, water supply, pumping and effluent treatment. The work also covers design review, vendor selection, QA/QC, BIM models and SCADA/BMS systems.

Assistant Manager (Public Relations)
