Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Private Secretary Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts
The Directorate General of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has released a vacancy circular to fill up 2 posts of Private Secretary in the rank of General Central Services Group 'B' (Gazetted, Ministerial). Selection is by deputation only — direct recruitment is not allowed for these posts. Selected officers can be posted at Mumbai, Ranchi or Guwahati.

Who Can Apply?
You must be an officer holding the post of Stenographer under the Central Government, and meet one of the following two conditions:
- You are holding analogous posts (Private Secretary or equivalent) on a regular basis in your parent cadre or department; OR
- You have 5 years of regular service in posts in Pay Level-6 (Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400) or equivalent in your parent cadre or department.
Note 1: Departmental officers in the feeder category who are already in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for deputation.
Note 2: The total period of deputation, including any previous deputation in another ex-cadre post, will normally not exceed 3 years.
Age Limit
- The maximum age limit is 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
- No minimum age limit is specified — feeder grade service is the main requirement.
Salary
- Selected candidates will get a salary in Pay Level-7 (Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400) in the Pay Matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.
- You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance and other allowances as per Central Government rules.
- Pay and other conditions will be governed by Government of India deputation rules and CISF Rules.
Selection Process
The selection is done through a screening process based on records:
- Screening of Applications: CISF will scrutinise applications received in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-II) along with up-to-date APAR dossiers and vigilance clearance.
- Document Verification: The borrowing department verifies essential qualifications and work experience against the post applied for.
- Final Selection: Suitable officers are selected by the CISF and offered deputation.
There is no written exam or interview for this post.

Responsibilities
- Handle stenographic, typing and shorthand work for senior CISF officers
- Prepare official letters, notes, draft replies and confidential correspondence
- Manage the daily diary, appointments and meeting schedule of the officer
- Maintain personal files, classified records and sensitive documents securely
- Coordinate with other ministries, departments and CISF units on official matters
- Take dictation, transcribe minutes of meetings and circulate them in time
- Assist in preparing parliamentary replies, RTI responses and inspection notes
