Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal is hiring 1 Project Assistant at its College of Food Technology in Lamphelpat, Manipur. The College of Food Technology at CAU, Imphal has invited applications for 1 Project Assistant under the ANRF-PMECRG funded project titled "Design and development of a continuous two-stage frying system for the production of healthy savoury snacks in the food industries." There is no written exam — selection is entirely through a walk-in interview, which makes this a fast-track opportunity for recent Food Technology graduates. The position runs for the full 3-year project duration and ends automatically once the project is completed. The University/College reserves the right to fill or not fill the post, and can postpone or cancel the walk-in interview at any time without giving a reason.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Graduate in Food Technology, Food Engineering and Technology, or Food Process Engineering from a recognised university or institution
  • Desirable: M.Tech with a valid NET/GATE score, and prior research experience or knowledge in the field of Machine Design

Age Limit

Salary

  • You will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 27,000 per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per university/institute norms.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview, No Written Exam)

Selection is through a walk-in interview only — there is no written test.

  1. Document Verification: Bring your original certificates, mark sheets and other documents (with self-attested photocopies) for verification.
  2. Walk-in Interview: Appear for a direct interview with the selection committee at the College of Food Technology.

Note: This is a temporary, contractual engagement co-terminus with the project. CAU can end your services at any time without prior notice if your performance is unsatisfactory, and this role does not entitle you to any claim for regular employment or absorption at CAU, Imphal in future. The decision of the University/College on eligibility, mode of selection and final selection will be final and binding, and no separate enquiry or correspondence will be entertained.   • Assist in day-to-day lab experiments for the two-stage frying system project

  • Coordinate with the project team and university departments for material procurement
  • Maintain lab equipment, safety standards and experiment logs
  • Assist with data analysis and literature review related to the research project
