Category-wise, Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist has 10 ST, 1 SC and 8 UR seats (with women/PWD/Ex-serviceman/Sports quotas built in), Stenographer Grade-III has 3 ST and 2 SC seats, Junior Typist is split across 3 ST, 1 SEBC and 1 UR, and Salaried Amin has 2 ST, 2 SC and 1 UR seat. Who Can Apply?

For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, Stenographer Grade-III & Junior Typist:

  • Qualification: You need a Bachelor's Degree (+3) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
  • Additional Requirement: A Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized institute is compulsory.
  • Language: You must be able to speak, read and write Odia, and have passed an Odia test equivalent to M.E. Standard.
  • Typing Speed: Junior Typist candidates need 40 wpm in English typing; Stenographer Grade-III candidates need 80 wpm shorthand + 40 wpm English typing.
  • Employment Exchange: You must be registered with an Employment Exchange.

For Salaried Amin:

  • Qualification: You need to have passed Matriculation (10th) or an equivalent exam from a recognized Board.
  • Additional Requirement: You must have passed Revenue Inspector Training from a government or recognized institution and have basic computer knowledge.

Government employees (State or Central) can also apply, provided they submit a "No Objection Certificate" from their employer.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 42 years old as on 28 August 2026 for all four posts.
  • Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxed for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD/Ex-servicemen/Sports persons as per Odisha Government rules.

Salary

  • Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist & Junior Typist: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month (Level-4 of ORSP Pay Matrix, 2017).
  • Stenographer Grade-III: Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month (Level-7 of ORSP Pay Matrix, 2017).
  • Salaried Amin: Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month (Level-5 of ORSP Pay Matrix, 2017).
  • You will also get usual D.A. and other allowances as per Government of Odisha rules.

  • All Categories (General/SC/ST/SEBC): No fee required for any category of candidate.

Selection Process

Each post has its own written test, but the overall process runs through these stages:

  1. Written Examination: Covers English, Arithmetic and General Knowledge (subjects vary slightly by post). Papers run for 100 marks each, and you need at least 35% marks in each paper to qualify.
  2. Skill/Practical Test: Typing test (Junior Typist), shorthand + typing test (Stenographer Grade-III), or Survey & Settlement practical test (Salaried Amin), plus a Computer Science Practical Test for all posts.
  3. Viva-Voce (Interview): Tests your alertness, general outlook and overall suitability for the post.

Candidates are shortlisted for the written exam in a ratio of 1:20 per category. The cut-off for the Computer Science Practical Test is 50% for General/other categories and 40% for SC/ST candidates.
