Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navaratna Company and a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has released Advertisement No. 21001/SAFETY/HR/KOT/2026/02 for filling 1 Senior Safety Officer post on a fixed tenure basis of 5 years at its Kotdwar Unit, Uttarakhand. BEL is a premier public limited company in professional electronics with a portfolio of over 350 products covering military radars, naval systems, electro-optics, and homeland security. Who Can Apply?

Option 1: B.E./B.Tech + Safety Diploma/Degree

• Qualification: B.E. or B.Tech in Engineering along with a Degree or Diploma in Safety from a recognised institution
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience working in a factory or site in a supervisory capacity, or handling/assisting Safety/Fire-related Training, Audits, or Inspections

Option 2: M.E./M.Tech in Industrial Safety

• Qualification: Two-year M.E. or M.Tech in Industrial Safety from a recognised institution
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience working in a factory or site in a supervisory capacity, or handling/assisting Safety/Fire-related Training, Audits, or Inspections

Option 3: B.E. in Fire and Safety Engineering

• Qualification: B.E. in Fire and Safety Engineering from a recognised institution
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience working in a factory or site in a supervisory capacity, or handling/assisting Safety/Fire-related Training, Audits, or Inspections

You must have scored 60% or above marks in your qualifying exam. Academic, teaching, research, or internship experience will not count as eligible work experience.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years (as on 01 March 2026) for UR category
• PwBD: 10 years relaxation for candidates with 40% or more disability
• Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per Government of India guidelines

Salary

• Pay scale: Rs. 50,000 - 3% - Rs. 1,60,000 per month (E-III Grade)
• Your starting basic pay will be Rs. 50,000 per month with an annual increment of 3%
• In addition to basic pay, you will receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Perquisites at 35% of annual basic pay
• Other benefits include reimbursement of medical expenses, Group Insurance, Provident Fund, Gratuity, and Performance Related Pay (PRP)

Application Fee

• General / OBC-NCL / EWS: Rs. 472/- (Rs. 400 + 18% GST)
• SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen: No fee (Exempted)
• Payment Mode: SBI Collect (Online through SBI Collect portal)
• Fee is non-refundable. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Written Test: Candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:7 (7 candidates for every 1 vacancy). The written test will be held at Kotdwar only.
2. Interview: Only candidates who qualify in the written test will be called for the interview. The interview will also be held at Kotdwar.

No travelling allowance will be paid for attending the written test.

• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits across the factory and production floor
• Prepare and implement safety plans, fire prevention measures, and emergency response procedures
• Monitor compliance with industrial safety regulations, factory act provisions, and BEL safety policies
• Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents, and prepare detailed incident reports with corrective actions
• Organize safety awareness training programs and fire drills for employees at all levels
• Maintain safety records, audit reports, and documentation as required under statutory regulations
• Coordinate with external safety agencies, fire departments, and regulatory authorities during inspections
