Gun Carriage Factory, Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) builds defence platforms like the 155 mm Dhanush, LFG, T-90 and T-72 tanks. The factory is now engaging 185 skilled tradesmen across 8 trades on a fixed-tenure contract basis. The contract is for one year and can be extended up to four years based on your performance and the factory's needs. This is a good fit for experienced ITI and diploma holders who want hands-on work in a defence production unit.

Out of the total, 7 posts are reserved horizontally for Persons with Benchmark Disability (VH: 2, HH: 2, OH: 3). For the Examiner post, candidates from Fitter (G), Machinist, Welder, Turner, Millwright and Machinist Grinder trades can apply as equivalent trades.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have an NTC/NAC or an Engineering Diploma/Degree in the relevant trade from a recognised Government or Government-affiliated institute.
• Experience: You need at least 2 years of experience in the relevant work area at a well-reputed company, backed by an experience certificate from your employer.
• Apprenticeship: One year or more of apprenticeship training (with NAC, for ITI-qualified candidates) is counted as one year of experience.
• You should be able to start giving output within 10 days of joining GCF.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on the last date of application.
• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (for posts reserved for SC/ST).
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation (for posts reserved for OBC).
• PwBD: Up to 10 years relaxation as per Government policy.
• Ex-Servicemen: Period of military service + 3 years.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 31,840 per month — this is Basic Pay of Rs. 19,900 plus 60% Dearness Allowance.
• You get a 3% annual increase on basic pay, subject to satisfactory performance.
• You will also be covered under EPF and the Employees' Compensation Act, 1923. HRA applies as per AWEIL policy if no quarter is provided.

Selection Process

Selection is based on your technical qualification marks and a Trade Test/Interview, with 50% weightage each:

1. Essential Technical Qualification Marks (50%): Marks from your bare minimum essential trade qualification.
2. Trade Test / Practical Test / Interview (50%): You must score at least 40% in each part to qualify (35% for SC/ST candidates).
3. Document Verification: Done with original documents at the factory.
4. Medical Fitness Test: Selected candidates must clear a medical test before joining.

If too many applications come in, GCF may shortlist candidates for the Trade Test based on qualification marks and previous job experience.

• Operate CNC machines (Siemens/Fanuc) for precision machining of platforms like the 155 mm Dhanush, LFG and MBT
• Carry out fitting, assembling, stripping and dismantling of components for Dhanush, LFG, T-90 and T-72
• Perform TIG/MIG welding on assemblies as per RT/UT standards
• Run heat treatment furnaces and handle electroplating and surface treatment of metal components
• Inspect components using Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges and slip gauges
• Read engineering drawings and blueprints and set tools for the assigned job
• Follow safety rules and wear protective gear during all shop-floor work
