APSP 7th IRB Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

7th Indian Reserve Battalion, Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP) is hiring support staff on an outsourcing basis for its unit at Maddipadu in Prakasam district. The notice brings office work, records, sanitation, cooking, laundry and grooming roles into one recruitment and one application window. Every role supports the day-to-day running of an operational police battalion, so the work setting is more disciplined and mobile than an ordinary district office. Candidates should choose the post that matches their education and practical trade ability.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Record Assistant: office-record work covering files, correspondence, information collection and routine administrative support.
  • Office Subordinate: support for physical and digital files, scanning, data entry and movement of records within the unit.
  • Sweeper and Scavenger: separate sanitation roles covering general premises, washrooms, waste collection and safe disposal.
  • Cook: preparation and service of battalion meals, menu and ration support, kitchen hygiene and equipment care.
  • Dhobi: washing, drying, ironing and orderly handling of clothing and laundry equipment.
  • Barber: haircuts and shaving for police personnel, daily service records, tool safety and salon hygiene.

Post-wise Duties

Record Assistant and Office Subordinate

You will help the battalion keep official records and correspondence organised. Depending on the post, this includes maintaining files, scanning papers, recording information and supporting routine office movement without compromising document security.

Sweeper and Scavenger

You will keep assigned buildings, corridors, washrooms and surrounding areas sanitary. The work includes using cleaning materials safely, separating waste and maintaining hygiene throughout the allotted shift.

Cook

You will prepare and serve regular and official battalion meals, plan menus and help manage ration stocks. Food safety, clean kitchen surfaces and careful use of equipment are central parts of the role.

Dhobi and Barber

Dhobis will handle washing, drying and ironing, while barbers will provide haircuts and shaving and keep service records. Both trades are expected to keep their tools clean, safe and ready for regular unit use.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Outsourced status: Selection does not make you a member of the police service and does not create a claim to regular appointment or preference in another government recruitment.
  • Mobility: Cleaning, cooking, laundry and barber staff may be moved to different places across Andhra Pradesh when the battalion moves for operational work.
  • Headquarters discipline: Staff must live at the official headquarters and remain available on 24-hour call during emergencies. Private practice or outside work is not allowed during the engagement.
  • Local-status papers: The notice uses study certificates from Classes IV to X for local-status assessment. Its locality wording should be checked carefully alongside the Prakasam-district heading before you apply.
  • Service termination: The administration may end outsourced service for administrative reasons. Appointment also depends on sound health, suitable character, Indian citizenship and compliance with the conduct conditions in the notice.
  • Benefits: Outsourced staff receive leave under applicable Andhra Pradesh rules. Married women employees may receive paid maternity leave for the first two children, while EPF, ESI and other statutory recoveries apply where relevant.

Application Submission Notes

The completed form may be delivered by hand or sent by post to The Commandant, 7th IR Battalion, APSP, Maddipadu, APIIC Growth Centre, Prakasam District 523211. It must reach the office within the application window; merely posting it by the closing time does not establish timely receipt.

Provide an active Aadhaar number, mobile number and email address in the form so the unit can send the later assessment schedule. Use the attached format and include attested copies supporting education, category, local status and any trade qualification claimed. No online application form or role-specific apply portal is provided in the notice.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain official records, correspondence and administrative files for the battalion
  • Handle physical and digital filing, scanning and routine information entry
  • Clean assigned offices, corridors, washrooms and common areas safely
  • Collect, separate and dispose of sanitation waste using proper methods
  • Prepare battalion meals and keep kitchen stocks, utensils and equipment organised
