IIIT Directors Recruitment 2026: Overview
The Ministry of Education, Government of India is appointing Directors for the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Kurnool, and the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), Gwalior. These autonomous institutes receive full funding from the Ministry. Each Director serves as both the academic and administrative head, with responsibility for leading an Institute of National Importance.

- Director, IIITDM Kurnool: The appointment is for the institute in Andhra Pradesh, whose institutional scope includes information technology, design and manufacturing.
- Director, ABV-IIITM Gwalior: The appointment is for the institute in Madhya Pradesh, whose institutional scope includes information technology and management.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Contract tenure: The appointment lasts five years or until you reach 65 years of age, whichever comes first. The usual terms and conditions of the appointment apply.
- Approval: Appointment requires approval from the competent authority following the recommendation of the Search-cum-Selection Committee.
- Nominations: The committee can consider nominations from eminent persons alongside applications responding to the advertisement. Its consideration is therefore not limited to people who apply directly.

Responsibilities
- Lead the institute’s academic work.
- Head the institute’s administration.
- Provide leadership for its teaching activities.
- Guide the institute’s research work.
- Support research guidance at Ph.D. level.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Ph.D. in an appropriate branch, an outstanding academic record throughout, and at least 7 years as a Professor in a reputed educational institute.
Required Skills
Proven administrative, teaching and research background, significant Ph.D. research-guidance experience, and leadership qualities.
