APS Udhampur Recruitment 2026 — 18 Posts

Army Public School, Udhampur, located in J&K (UT), is one of the well-known Army-run schools under the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). The school is now hiring staff for its Senior, Primary, and Pre-Primary Wings on a casual (contractual) basis. This notification was published on 01 April 2026 in Dainik Jagran and Daily Excelsior newspapers. Both male and female candidates can apply for the MTS post, while the remaining posts are open to male candidates only (except Marshal Guards which has 3 female and 1 male vacancy).

Who Can Apply?

MTS (General) — 04 Posts

• Qualification: Matriculation (10th pass) from a recognized board
• Experience: Preference for candidates with experience in housekeeping or sanitation work
• Other: You must be physically fit and capable of maintenance and hygiene duties

Electrician — 01 Post

• Qualification: Matriculation + ITI Certificate in Electrician trade or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in electrical maintenance or repair work
• Other: You should be able to handle routine electrical faults on your own
• Preference: Qualified Ex-Servicemen (ESM)

Plumber — 01 Post

• Qualification: Matriculation + ITI Certificate in Plumbing or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in plumbing works
• Other: You should be able to handle water supply systems, repairs, and maintenance
• Preference: Qualified Ex-Servicemen (ESM)

Gardener (Mali) — 04 Posts

• Qualification: Preferably Matriculation (not mandatory if you have relevant experience)
• Experience: Experience in gardening, landscaping, and upkeep of lawns and grounds
• Other: You should know about plants, seasonal maintenance, and how to use gardening tools

Chowkidar — 04 Posts

• Qualification: Preferably Matriculation
• Experience: Experience in security or watch & ward duties preferred
• Other: You must be physically fit and able to work in shift or night duties

Marshal Guards — 04 Posts

• Qualification: Minimum 10th pass from a recognized board. Security course qualified candidates get preference
• Experience: Prior experience in security management, guarding duties, access control, or vigilance
• Medical: Medical category SHAPE-I or SHAPE-II (less 'S' factor). Must be physically and mentally fit for guarding and school security duties
• Preference: Ex-Servicemen (ESM) with relevant experience in security or administrative duties

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 40 years
• Ex-Servicemen (ESM): Age relaxation up to 50 years
• Age as on: Date of joining (as per notification)

Salary

• Pay: As per APS / AWES Pay Rules
• These are casual basis posts for the academic year 2026-27
• Exact salary details will be shared at the time of joining

• Payment mode: Bank Demand Draft (DD) in favour of "Army Public School, Udhampur" payable at Udhampur (J&K)

Selection Process

1. Scrutiny of Applications: All received applications will be screened for eligibility
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview tentatively in the 3rd or 4th week of April 2026 at Army Public School Udhampur (Senior Wing). You will be informed through telephone or email

Note: There is no written exam. Selection is based on interview and document verification only.
