Exam Pattern
You take a single-level, degree-standard objective examination in computer-based recruitment test (CBRT) mode. There is no screening test. The written papers have 300 questions for 450 marks, with 300 minutes across both papers.
- Paper I — General Studies and Mental Ability: 150 questions, 150 marks, 150 minutes. Topics include current affairs, science, history, Andhra Pradesh geography, polity, economy, environment, disaster management and reasoning.
- Paper II — Industrial and Occupational Safety, Health and Environment: 150 questions, 300 marks, 150 minutes. The supplied syllabus includes safety management, work environment, occupational health, labour welfare, and waste and effluent management.
Negative marking: Each wrong answer loses 1/3 of the marks assigned to that question.
Computer Proficiency Test
The practical Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) covers office automation using computers and associated software. You get 60 minutes for 100 marks. Minimum qualifying marks are 30 for SC/ST/PBD, 35 for BC and 40 for OC.
Multiple sessions: APPSC may normalize marks when necessary and will announce the method separately.
