Exam Pattern

Preliminary Screening Test

You will take an offline objective OMR-based screening test. Each paper has 120 questions for 120 marks, with 120 minutes per paper.

  • Paper I: General Studies: History and Culture; Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations; Indian and Andhra Pradesh Economy and Planning; Geography. Each part carries 30 marks.
  • Paper II: General Aptitude: General Mental Ability, Administrative and Psychological Abilities carries 60 marks; Science and Technologies carries 30 marks; regional, national and international current events carries 30 marks.
  • Screening total: 240 questions and 240 marks.

Negative marking: Each wrong screening-test answer loses 1/3 of the marks assigned to the question.

Main Written Examination

The mains is descriptive. You get 180 minutes for each paper, with 150 marks per paper.

  • Telugu and English: Separate qualifying papers.
  • Paper I: General Essay on contemporary regional, national and international themes.
  • Paper II: History, Culture and Geography of India and Andhra Pradesh.
  • Paper III: Polity, Constitution, Governance, Law and Ethics.
  • Paper IV: Economy and Development of India and Andhra Pradesh.
  • Paper V: Science, Technology and Environmental Issues.
  • Merit written papers: 750 marks in total.

Interview

The interview carries 75 marks. The combined merit total is 825 marks, excluding the qualifying language papers.
