Selection Process

Exam Pattern
You will take a single-level, degree-standard objective examination in computer-based recruitment test (CBRT) mode. There is no screening test, regardless of the number of applications.
Written papers
- Paper I: General Studies and Mental Ability — 150 questions, 150 marks, 150 minutes.
- Paper II: Social and Cultural History of Andhra Pradesh and Welfare Programmes — 150 questions, 150 marks, 150 minutes.
- Paper III: Indian Constitution and Welfare and Protection Measures for Weaker Sections — 150 questions, 150 marks, 150 minutes.
The written papers total 450 questions and 450 marks. Each wrong answer attracts a deduction of 1/3 of the marks assigned to that question.
Multiple sessions: APPSC may normalise scores where needed. It will announce the applicable method separately.
Computer Proficiency Test
The practical Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) carries 100 marks and gives you 60 minutes. Minimum qualifying marks are 30 for SC/ST, 35 for BC and 40 for OC.
- Computer fundamentals: 20%, with MCQs permitted.
- Document preparation and typing: 25%.
- Inserting and organising objects: 15%.
- Spreadsheets: 20%.
- Presentations: 20%.
