ANGRAU Drone Engineer and Co-Pilot Recruitment 2026: Overview

Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) is engaging technical staff for the Centre for A.P. Sensors and Smart Applications Research in Agriculture (APSARA) at the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Lam, Guntur. The centre needs support for agricultural drone research, technical programmes, sponsored trials and drone training. These are temporary contractual engagements involving practical field work as well as centre-based activity.

Posts and Disciplines

• Drone Engineer cum Trainer: This role combines drone engineering with training and agricultural technology development at APSARA.
• Drone Co-Pilot cum Driver: This role supports drone operations, training logistics and transport for the centre and ANGRAU's Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO).

Post-wise Duties

Drone Engineer cum Trainer

You will work on drone design, assembly, functional testing and flight-data diagnostics, alongside classroom and field training for drone pilots. The work also connects drone development with agricultural uses, farmer demonstrations and support for drone enterprises.

Drone Co-Pilot cum Driver

You will support field flying, battery charging, charger upkeep and drone maintenance. Moving drones and related equipment for training, research and demonstrations is part of the role, alongside the centre's transport needs.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract period: The engagement can last up to 11 months. Services may end earlier depending on performance and the project's needs.
• Offer timing: Offers may be issued as needs arise within six months after results are announced. A result does not mean every engagement begins immediately.
• Work base and travel: You may work at APSARA in Lam or its field offices. Expect daily field visits and extensive travel across Andhra Pradesh while carrying drones, accessories and other materials.
• Recruitment changes: The Associate Director of Research can change the interview arrangements or cancel all or part of the notice according to requirements.
• Conduct: Attempts to influence the recruitment through recommendations, relatives or political contacts can work against your application. False claims can also harm your candidature.
