AIIMS CRE-5 Group B and C Recruitment 2026 - 2693 Posts
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has released Notice No. 93/2026 for Common Recruitment Examination CRE-5. The exam covers regular Non-Faculty Group B and Group C posts in participating AIIMS, ESIC, ICMR, RML Hospital, VMMC Safdarjung Hospital, CNCI Kolkata, RIPANS, RHTC Najafgarh, and other listed bodies. One online exam window covers many post groups, but you must apply only for the groups where you meet the exact Annexure-I eligibility.

Who Can Apply?
Post-Wise Qualification
- Clerical and office posts: Many posts require 12th pass, graduation, typing, computer knowledge, or office experience, depending on the group.
- Healthcare posts: Nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, OT, radiology, physiotherapy, dental, and medical record posts require the exact degree, diploma, registration, or experience listed in Annexure-I.
- Engineering and technical posts: Junior Engineer, electrician, mechanic, programmer, and technical posts require the relevant engineering, diploma, ITI, trade, or technical qualification.
- Security and fire posts: Security and fire groups include physical standards and additional physical tests after CBT where applicable.
- Important: AIIMS conducts the exam, but the final eligibility and appointment rules belong to the respective participating institute.
Eligibility Date
- Crucial Date: You must meet the essential qualification, experience, age, and other conditions by 03 July 2026, unless a specific post says otherwise.
- NOC: Government, PSU, autonomous body, and government-funded institution employees must upload the required No Objection Certificate within the scheduled time.
Age Limit
- Post-wise age: Age limit is different for each post group, so check Annexure-I before choosing a group.
- Age reference date: Age is generally counted as on the closing date of online registration.
- SC/ST relaxation: 5 years beyond the upper age limit.
- OBC relaxation: 3 years beyond the upper age limit.
- PwBD relaxation: 10 years where the post is suitable for that disability category.
- Ex-servicemen: Military service plus 3 years, with category-wise rules in Annexure-III.
Salary
- Pay Levels: Salary is post-wise and listed as Central Government pay levels in Annexure-I.
- Indicative Range: Many posts fall between Pay Level 1 and Pay Level 7, depending on the role and institute.
- Allowances: Selected candidates get the usual allowances as per the rules of the respective institute or hospital.
- Check carefully: Because this is a common exam, the salary for a clerk, technician, nurse, engineer, pharmacist, and security post will not be the same.
Physical Standards
Assistant Security Officer
- Male height: 170 cm minimum, relaxable by 5 cm for notified hill area residents.
- Male chest: 81 cm normal and 85 cm expanded, with relaxation for notified hill area residents.
- Female height: 157 cm minimum, relaxable by 2 cm for notified hill area residents.
- Vision: 6/12 in both eyes without glasses and no colour blindness.
Fire Technician and Security cum Fire Assistant
- PST: Physical Standard Test is qualifying before PET.
- PET: Physical Efficiency Test carries 50 marks and you need at least 25 marks to qualify.
- Note: Physical standards apply only to the relevant security/fire post groups, not to all CRE-5 posts.
Application Fee
- General / OBC: Rs. 3,000 per post group.
- SC / ST / EWS: Rs. 2,400 per post group.
- PwBD: No fee.
- Payment Mode: Debit card, credit card, or net banking.
- Multiple Groups: If you apply for more than one group, you must submit a separate application and fee for each group.
Selection Process
The selection process starts with a Computer Based Test. Some groups also have skill tests, typing tests, physical tests, or document verification after CBT.
- Computer Based Test: 100 MCQs for 400 marks in 90 minutes.
- Skill Test / Typing Test / Trade Test: Applicable only for specific groups such as clerical, stenography, programming, AC&R, translation, and other notified roles.
- Physical Standard / Efficiency Test: Applicable only for security and fire-related groups.
- Choice and Preference: Qualified candidates may be asked to fill institute/post preferences later.
- Document Verification: Final eligibility, category, NOC, experience, qualification, and institute-specific requirements are checked before appointment.

Responsibilities
- Provide patient care, technical, clerical, administrative, or support services based on the allotted post
- Maintain records, registers, files, equipment logs, or patient documents as required by the institute
- Operate hospital, laboratory, engineering, office, security, or computer systems linked to the role
- Follow institute rules, safety standards, and reporting procedures during daily work
- Assist doctors, officers, engineers, nurses, or supervisors according to the assigned department
- Support public service delivery in participating AIIMS, ESIC, ICMR, and Central Government institutes

Exam Pattern
The CRE-5 Computer Based Test will have 100 MCQs for 400 marks. You will get 90 minutes to complete the paper.
Subject-wise Breakdown
- General Knowledge, Aptitude, and Computer Knowledge: 20 MCQs
- Domain Knowledge: 80 MCQs from the subject or qualification area of the selected group
- Sections: 5 sections of 20 questions each, with 18 minutes for each section
Negative Marking: 1/4 of the marks for a question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Qualifying Marks: UR/EWS need 40%, OBC need 35%, and SC/ST/PwBD need 30%.
Exam Language: English/Hindi for 10th, matriculation, or 10+2 level groups. Technical and graduate-level groups are generally in English only.
Exam Type: Computer Based Test. Skill, typing, trade, physical, or written tests apply only to notified post groups after CBT.
