All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi (AIIMS New Delhi) has issued Notice No. 96/2026 dated 23 June 2026 for Assistant Professor posts at the AIIMS-CAPFIMS Campus. The campus is at Maidan Garhi, New Delhi, and faculty appointed under this notice will work for that campus. Selection will be through screening and interview; there is no written exam mentioned in the notice.

Who Can Apply?

Medical Qualification

• Basic medical qualification: You need a medical qualification included in Schedule I, Schedule II, or Part II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
• Super-specialty posts: Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology, Nephrology, Neurosurgery and Urology need the relevant DM or M.Ch. qualification, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Nuclear Medicine: You need MD in Nuclear Medicine or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Orthopaedics: You need MS in Orthopaedics or an equivalent recognised qualification.

Experience

• Three-year or six-year DM/M.Ch. holders: No extra teaching or research experience is needed for those specialties where the notice says so.
• Two-year or five-year DM/M.Ch. holders: You need 3 years of teaching or research experience in the specialty after the qualifying degree.
• MD/MS posts: The notice requires 3 years of teaching or research experience after the qualifying degree.

Age Limit

• Maximum age for all posts is 50 years.
• Age will be checked as on the online application closing date, 20 July 2026.
• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation.
• OBC: 3 years relaxation.
• PwBD: 5 years relaxation.
• Government servants: 5 years relaxation, subject to the conditions in the notice.
• Even after relaxation, the maximum age cannot exceed 55 years on the cut-off date.

Salary

• Assistant Professor salary is Rs. 1,42,506 per month on consolidated basis.
• This is a contract appointment, so regular service benefits like pension, gratuity, promotion, and similar benefits are not given under the contract terms.
• No separate allowance is mentioned for these posts in the notice.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done through screening and interview. If more than 10 applications are received for a post, AIIMS will use objective screening criteria to shortlist candidates for interview.

1. Online Application Screening: AIIMS checks age, qualification, experience and uploaded documents.
2. Objective Shortlisting: For posts with more than 10 applications, candidates are ranked using screening criteria based on academic, research, publication, teaching and presentation records.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear before the selection committee.
4. Document Verification: Original certificates and uploaded documents are checked at the interview stage.
