ACCF Palliative Care Recruitment 2026: Overview

Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF), a joint initiative of the Government of Assam and Tata Trusts, is looking for Palliative Care doctors at its cancer centres in Tinsukia and Golaghat. The foundation was set up in 2017 to build a three-level cancer grid across Assam so that treatment and follow-up care reach a patient near home instead of only at Guwahati.

Palliative care sits at the centre of that idea. Assam reports about 32,000 new cancer cases every year and roughly seven out of ten of them are picked up at a late stage, so pain relief, symptom control and family counselling are a large part of the work at a district cancer centre. This opening runs alongside ACCF's other clinical hiring in the same round for medical, radiation and surgical oncology, nuclear medicine and nursing.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Where you will work: you are posted at the ACCF cancer centre at Tinsukia or Golaghat, both district towns in upper Assam. The foundation states plainly that it wants people who are comfortable in rural surroundings.
• Who you will treat: the centres serve everyone in their catchment district, including the poorest patients, and ACCF asks for an empathetic, helpful approach towards patients' families and caregivers.
• Scope of work: you are expected to multi-task and take up work beyond the strict boundary of the role when the centre needs it.
