NCERT DESS JPF Recruitment 2026

NCERT DESS is hiring 25 Junior Project Fellows (JPF) for PAC-approved programmes in social sciences education. If you have a Master's Degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant subject, you can attend the walk-in interview in New Delhi. The interview dates are 23 June, 29 June, and 01 July 2026, depending on the project row. Salary is Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 37,000 per month.

NCERT DESS JPF Recruitment 2026 - 25 Posts

National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), through the Department of Education in Social Sciences, has issued a walk-in notice for JPF posts under multiple PAC-approved programmes for 2026-27. The engagement is purely temporary and contractual, valid up to 31 March 2027 or until the project ends, whichever is earlier. This notice is useful for candidates with social science, education, commerce, physical education, geography, history, sociology, political science, economics, or allied Master's degrees.

Important point: this is one combined DESS notice, so you should check the project code, subject requirement, and interview date before going to NCERT. Several rows have the same salary and age rules, but the subject combinations and desirable skills change by project.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Basic requirement: You need a Master's Degree in the relevant subject with minimum 55% marks.
• Relaxed marks: SC, ST, and PH candidates can apply with minimum 50% marks in the relevant subject.

Desirable Skills

• Computer knowledge: MS Office, MS Excel, SPSS, data processing, report preparation, and related packages are preferred for many projects.
• Communication: Good writing and communication skills in English, Hindi, or both are required for several textbook and translation projects.
• Research exposure: Field survey, data handling, teaching, content development, or research experience is preferred for some rows.

Age Limit

• You should be below 40 years.
• Age relaxation: SC, ST, and female candidates get 5 years relaxation.
• OBC candidates: OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation.

Salary

• NET/PhD qualified candidates: Rs. 37,000 per month, consolidated and fixed.
• Non-NET candidates: Rs. 35,000 per month, consolidated and fixed.
• The fellowship is temporary and does not give any claim for regular NCERT employment.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is through a walk-in interview and document checking at NCERT, New Delhi.

1. Registration: Report between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM on the project interview date.
2. Document Verification: Bring the application form and supporting documents for checking.
3. Interview: Interview starts at 11:00 AM. NCERT states that no candidate will be entertained after 11:00 AM.

2. Fill the application form attached as Annexure I in the notice.
3. Reach the venue before 11:00 AM on the applicable interview date.
4. Carry your qualification certificates, category proof if applicable, experience proof if claimed, and other supporting documents.
5. If you are working in another organization, bring a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview.

No TA/DA will be paid by NCERT for attending the interview. If selected, you should be ready to join immediately.

• Support translation, content review, and editing tasks where the project requires it
• Work with MS Office, data tools, and research material as needed by the project team
• Maintain project records and submit progress updates to the programme coordinator
