Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA) is filling 1 post of Superintending Engineer (Civil) through absorption or deputation from officers of other Major Port Authorities. If you are a serving Class-I officer with a degree in Civil Engineering and 9 years of executive-cadre experience, you can apply through your parent Port Authority. The last date for your Port Authority to forward applications is 5 September 2026. The post carries a pay scale of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,80,000 per month.

Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA) Superintending Engineer (Civil) Recruitment 2026

Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA), functioning under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, is filling one post of Superintending Engineer (Civil) that falls vacant from 1 November 2026. The post will be filled by absorption or deputation from officers of all Major Port Authorities (except Kamarajar Port Limited), as per the MbPT Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2010. This post is not open to the general public — only serving officers of Major Port Authorities holding an analogous or feeder-grade post with the required experience can apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering from a recognised university or institution. A Diploma in Civil Engineering is considered only where no eligible degree-holder is available.
• Experience: At least 9 years of experience in the executive cadre in Planning, Construction, Design or Maintenance — preferably of Port and Marine structures — in an Industrial, Commercial or Government undertaking.
• Eligibility Date: Your eligibility is checked as on 1 August 2026.
• Who Can Apply: Only officers currently serving in a Major Port Authority (except Kamarajar Port Limited) who hold an analogous post, or a feeder-grade post with the required experience, are eligible.

Salary

• The post carries a pay scale of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,80,000 per month (pre-revised Rs. 24,900-50,500 / Rs. 13,000-18,250).
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as applicable to Major Port Authority officers.

Selection Process

Since this is a deputation/absorption post, you are selected on your service record rather than through a written exam:

1. Application Screening: Your Port Authority forwards your application along with certified ACRs for the last 5 years (2020-21 to 2024-25).
2. Vigilance and Administrative Clearance: Your integrity and disciplinary record are verified.
3. Selection by Competent Authority: Mumbai Port Authority reviews eligible applications and selects the officer as per the Recruitment Rules.

How to Apply

1. Get the application form (Annexure-II format) from mumbaiport.gov.in under People & Career/Jobs > Advertisements > Composite/Deputation/Absorption Method.
2. Attach certified copies of your ACRs for the last 5 years and other required certificates.
3. Get the form certified by the Head of Office/Department of your current Port Authority.
4. Submit your complete application through proper channel to your Port Authority.
5. Your Port Authority must forward it to Mumbai Port Authority by 5 September 2026.
