CSIR-NCL Project Associate-I Recruitment 2026: Overview

CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL), Pune, has one Project Associate-I opening in its Chemical Engineering and Process Development (CEPD) Division. The post belongs to a CSIR-sponsored project titled Surface Coated Vortex Diode Induced Hydrodynamic Cavitation for Treatment of Industrial Effluent (project code FBR050405).

The project uses hydrodynamic cavitation — tiny collapsing bubbles created as liquid swirls through a vortex diode — to clean up industrial wastewater. Your work will centre on taking this process to a larger scale, developing catalysts and making the set-up more efficient. It is a good match if you are a chemical engineering graduate or a chemistry postgraduate interested in process and environmental engineering.

Service Conditions and Caveats

Two pay rates: Your monthly rate depends on whether you have cleared a national test such as CSIR-UGC, ICAR or ICMR NET (including lectureship or assistant professorship), GATE, or a national exam run by central departments such as DBT or DST.
Tenure: The engagement lasts only as long as the sponsored project, and it continues only with satisfactory performance and conduct.
No claim to a CSIR post: This is not a CSIR/NCL appointment and gives you no right to be considered for any CSIR-NCL post or fellowship later.
Shortlisting: Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview. A Screening Committee may limit the calls, so mention any scale-up, catalysis or wastewater-treatment work clearly in your form.
Online interview: The shortlisted candidate gets the meeting link by email; no separate call letter is sent.
Joining and travel: The selected candidate must join immediately after the offer, and no TA/DA is paid for the interview.
