TMC Female Nurse Recruitment 2026: Overview
Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), a grant-in-aid institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, is holding a fresh walk-in interview for female nurses at Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), Parel, Mumbai under Advertisement No. 173/2026. One notice covers four kinds of nursing engagement — locum, project, adhoc and contract — and every one of them is on a purely temporary basis. The hospital also wants nurses who are willing to cover leave vacancies, so this suits you if you want hands-on hospital experience in Mumbai and are ready to commit to a full year.
Posts and Disciplines
- Female Nurse (Locum): the stand-in category; the notice links it to nurses who want to work against leave vacancies.
- Project Nurse: a project-based engagement; the notice does not name a particular project or unit.
- Adhoc Nurse: an adhoc engagement under the same temporary terms.

Service Conditions and Caveats
- Women only: This walk-in is only for female nurses.
- One-year undertaking: If you are selected, you sign an undertaking to work at Tata Memorial Hospital for one year.
- No outside applications: During that year you cannot apply for any other post, course, PG study or scholarship, and you cannot sit for any outside exam or interview.
- Leaving early: If you leave midway, your security deposit or salary amount is forfeited and you will not get an experience certificate.
- Nursing council registration: You must hold a valid Maharashtra Nursing Council (MNC) registration certificate.
- Hepatitis B vaccination: A certificate showing all doses of the Hepatitis B vaccine is compulsory.
- No accommodation: The hospital will not give housing to candidates from outside Mumbai, so plan your own stay.
- Screening test: If too many nurses turn up, the hospital will hold an MCQ test first and call only the shortlisted candidates to the interview.
Application Submission Notes
There is no online form. Go straight to the Nursing Office, 10th Floor, Golden Jubilee Building, Tata Memorial Hospital, Dr. Ernest Borges Road, Parel, Mumbai 400012. Reporting is allowed only between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., so plan to reach the venue within that one-hour window. Carry your bio-data with a recent passport-size photo pasted on it, along with attested copies of your certificates.

- Provide bedside nursing care to cancer patients in the assigned ward or unit
- Give prescribed medicines and treatments on time and record each dose
- Monitor vital signs and report any change in a patient's condition to the doctor on duty
- Assist doctors during rounds, procedures and emergencies
- Follow infection-control and patient-safety rules on the ward
- Cover shifts and duties of nurses on leave when posted as a locum
- Explain care and discharge instructions to patients and their families

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and/or B.Sc. (Nursing), with a valid Maharashtra Nursing Council (MNC) registration certificate. Open to female nurses only.
