IIT Delhi Consultant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is engaging a Consultant for its Sonipat Campus to support campus electrical infrastructure. This is a contractual campus-services assignment focused on reliable power and safe building operations. Immediate joining is preferred, making availability an important practical consideration if you are already working elsewhere.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract period: The initial engagement is for one year. It may continue up to a maximum of two years, depending on the institute’s needs and a satisfactory review of your work.
• Extension: Continued engagement depends on functional need as well as performance. The notice does not promise an automatic extension when the initial period ends.
• Temporary engagement: Attending the interview or being selected gives you no claim to a permanent position in IIT Delhi’s regular establishment. Keep this condition in mind when considering the appointment.
• Immediate availability: IIT Delhi prefers someone who can join immediately. This preference is stated separately from the qualification and experience requirements.
• Recruitment changes: The institute may increase or reduce the advertised vacancies, postpone the process, or cancel it without giving a reason.
• Information accuracy: If any information is found to be false or incorrect, your candidature or appointment may be cancelled, including after selection.

Your form should show marks or divisions for each examination and full work-experience details. Keep the PDF scans clear and readable; the notice recommends 300 dpi or higher. Incomplete forms will be rejected.

• Operate and maintain the campus 11 kV system, transformers, HT/LT panels and switchgear.
• Maintain DG sets, UPS equipment and internal electrical installations for reliable power supply.
• Supervise central air-conditioning, chillers, lifts, fire systems, CCTV and emergency lighting services.
• Inspect electrical installations, identify faults and coordinate timely repairs.
• Check compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory requirements.
• Prepare technical estimates, specifications, Bills of Quantities and maintenance schedules.
• Check work quality and certify completed electrical works.
