SRFTI Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview
Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) is recruiting an Assistant on deputation for its Kolkata establishment. The institute is a deemed-to-be university under the distinct category and comes under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. This is an opportunity to join a film and television education institution through a deputation arrangement with your parent organisation.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Deputation period: The normal limit is three years. This includes any deputation in another ex-cadre post immediately before this appointment, whether you held that post in the same organisation or elsewhere.
- Parent-office coordination: The appointment involves your lending organisation as well as SRFTI. Your current employer's forwarding authority must complete the certification attached to the prescribed application, rather than leaving that part for you to certify yourself.
- Employer certification: The forwarding authority checks your particulars against official records and confirms that you meet the conditions in the notice. It also certifies your integrity and confirms that no vigilance case is pending or being considered against you.
- Institute discretion: SRFTI may reject individual applications or all applications without giving a reason. The notice also says that the institute will not entertain interim queries, so sending an application does not create an entitlement to an appointment.
Application Submission Notes
Send your application in the notice's prescribed format to The Registrar, Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, E. M. Bypass Road, P.O. Panchasayar, Kolkata – 700094. You may use the post or place it in the application box in the institute's Administration Block.
If you work in a government, semi-government, public-sector or autonomous institution, apply through the proper channel; the notice also allows you to send an advance copy within the application window. Mark the envelope clearly with the name of the post applied for, so the institute can identify it as an Assistant application.

न्यूनतम योग्यता
Degree from a recognised university and knowledge of computers. Applicants must be officials of the Central Government, a State Government or a Central Autonomous Body meeting the prescribed service conditions.

7th CPC Pay Level 5: Rs. 29,200-92,300. Pre-revised PB-1: Rs. 5,200-20,200 with Grade Pay Rs. 2,800. Deputation pay follows DoPT O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay II), dated 17/6/2010, and O.M. No. 2/15/2017-Estt.(Pay-II), dated 18.10.2018, as amended.

HRA, TA, CEA, LTC, joining-time pay, travelling allowances and transfer TA are governed by DoPT instructions and mutual agreement between the lending and borrowing organisations.
