Service Conditions and Caveats

• Faculty contract: Foreign faculty appointments can run for up to five years. Government of India permission is mandatory before you join the institute.
• Fellowship tenure: A postdoctoral engagement generally starts for one year and can continue for two more years. Extension depends on satisfactory academic performance; it is not automatic.
• Research mentor: Each postdoctoral fellow is matched with a mentor whose research area is closest to the fellow’s work. This connects your fellowship to an academic area within the institute.
• Additional work: Alongside research, the academic unit head may assign reasonable academic or administrative tasks according to the unit’s needs.
• Academic unit contact: The notice directs postdoctoral applicants to the relevant academic unit head for specific information. This contact is separate from the email address used to send your CV.
