ICAR-IARI JRF Plant Physiology Recruitment 2026: Overview

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI) is adding Junior Research Fellows to a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-supported study in its Division of Plant Physiology, New Delhi. The project examines how Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis promotes growth in rice, bringing together plant physiology, field phenotyping, experimental design and data analysis. This is a hands-on crop-research assignment for researchers who are comfortable connecting controlled experiments with field or phenomics observations.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract status: The fellowship is purely temporary and project-linked. It does not create a claim to a regular ICAR-IARI appointment.
• Initial term: The engagement begins for one year or the remaining project duration, whichever ends first.
• Extension: ICAR-IARI may renew the engagement year by year when your performance is satisfactory and the scheme continues.
• End of engagement: The position closes when the scheme ends, and the notice does not promise re-engagement after project termination.
• Current employment: If you already work for an organisation, include a No Objection Certificate from your employer with the application.
• Academic scoring: Enter marks from Class 10 onward and attach the matching certificates. Missing marks or proof can leave that qualification out of the academic score.
• Original checks: ICAR-IARI will check original documents and attest them before issuing an offer letter, so your uploaded or emailed copies must match the originals.
• Relationship declaration: The prescribed form asks you to disclose whether a near or distant relative works for ICAR or ICAR-IARI.
