AIIMS Gorakhpur Senior Resident Recruitment 2026

AIIMS Gorakhpur is hiring 27 Senior Residents across 11 departments under the Government of India Residency Scheme. If you have an MD / MS / DNB degree in the relevant specialty and are under 45 years old, you can attend the walk-in interview. The interview will be held on 19 May 2026 at the Administrative Block, AIIMS Gorakhpur. Starting salary is Rs. 67,700 per month (Pay Level 11) plus DA, HRA, NPA and other allowances.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Gorakhpur has released Advertisement No. AIIMS/GKP/RECT/SR/2026-27/35 for 27 Senior Resident posts across Anaesthesiology, CMFM, Dermatology, ENT, General Medicine, General Surgery, OBGY, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Radiology and Trauma & Emergency departments. This is a direct walk-in interview — there is no online registration. The appointment is initially for 1 year and can be extended up to 3 years based on performance. The CMFM post is on an 11-month tenure basis.

5 seats are horizontally reserved for PwBD candidates. For Trauma & Emergency department, candidates with MD/MS/DNB in Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery or Orthopedics will also be considered.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: A postgraduate medical degree (MD / MS / DNB) in the respective discipline from an NMC-recognised University or Institute.
• Medical Registration: Valid NMC / MCI / State Medical Council registration is mandatory before joining.
• Nationality: Indian citizen only.
• Prior Service Restriction: You must NOT have completed 3 years of Senior Residency under the Residency Scheme in any Government medical institution (whether regular, ad-hoc or contract).
• Qualifying Exam Status: You must have passed your qualifying degree exam and completed the tenure before the interview date.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 45 years (as on the date of interview)
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates (for reserved vacancies only)
• PwBD Age Relaxation: 10 years for General, 13 years for OBC, 15 years for SC/ST candidates

Salary

• Basic Pay: Rs. 67,700 per month (Pay Level 11, Cell No. 01) as per the 7th Central Pay Commission
• Plus usual allowances including NPA (Non-Practising Allowance), DA and HRA as per Central Government rules

Selection Process

Selection will be done through:

1. Walk-in Interview conducted at AIIMS Gorakhpur on the scheduled date
2. Written Test (if needed): If a large number of applications are received, candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on a written test
3. Document Verification: All original certificates (degrees, mark sheets, age proof, caste certificates, MCI/DCI registration, internship completion certificate, NOC if in service) must be produced at the time of interview
4. Medical Fitness: Final appointment is subject to being declared medically fit by the competent Medical Board

How to Apply

1. Pay the application fee through NEFT to the AIIMS Gorakhpur SBI account given in the notification.
2. Fill the application form (Annexure I) and Bio-Data (Annexure II) from the official notification.
3. Self-attest photocopies of all required documents: 10th/12th certificate, MBBS mark sheets and degree, internship completion certificate, MD/MS/DNB degree, MCI/DCI registration, caste certificate (if applicable), experience certificate (if any) and NOC (if in government service).
4. Bring the filled application form along with original documents and the payment receipt to the interview venue.
5. Report at Administrative Block, AIIMS Campus, Kunraghat, Gorakhpur, UP-273008 between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM on 19 May 2026.
6. Candidates applying for more than one post must apply separately for each post.

• Handle patient care duties in the assigned department (Trauma & Emergency, Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, Surgery, etc.)
• Assist consultants during rounds, surgeries, and procedures
• Manage OPD, IPD and emergency cases as per departmental protocols
• Maintain accurate clinical records and patient case files
• Work in rotating shifts including night duty, weekends and on-call as required
• Guide junior residents, interns and nursing staff in clinical work
• Participate in academic activities — case presentations, journal clubs and research
• Follow AIIMS rules, conduct guidelines and patient safety protocols at all times
