IIT Delhi Junior Project Attendant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), through its Industrial Research and Development (IRD) Unit, is hiring a Junior Project Attendant for the Department of Energy Science and Engineering. The post is funded from the Professional Development Fund of Prof. Vipin Kumar (PD17029, MI00148), and you will work with his research group on the Hauz Khas campus.

This is one of the few IIT Delhi project posts open to candidates with a Class 10 pass and an ITI diploma. If you have already worked in a research lab, you will be given priority, so mention that experience clearly in your form.

The job is on a contract with consolidated pay. It is a good way to get hands-on lab experience at a top engineering institute, but it is not a permanent government post.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of appointment: Purely contractual, renewed every year, for a maximum of three years or until the fund ends, whichever comes first.
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.
• Marks relaxation: SC/ST candidates may get a 5% relaxation in marks.
• Retired employees: If a retired or superannuated government employee is selected, the pay is fixed as per the prevailing IRD norms.
• Shortlisting: IIT Delhi can set a higher bar than the advertised minimum when shortlisting, so meeting the basic criteria does not guarantee an interview call.
