MGMMC Indore Counsellor Recruitment 2026: Overview

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College (MGMMC), Indore, a government autonomous body in Madhya Pradesh, is hiring Counsellors for its Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF). The facility runs under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), funded by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and coordinated nationally by NDDTC, AIIMS Delhi.

This is a purely contractual project job, not a permanent college post. The selected candidates may also be placed against future vacancies of the same project. If you hold a degree in psychology, social work or sociology and want hands-on experience in de-addiction and mental-health work, this role fits well — a master's in one of these subjects is preferred.

Expect plenty of work outside the clinic too. The notice says staff may go on field visits, awareness (IEC) activities, camps and outreach drives, attend de-addiction and mental-health trainings, and travel outstation when the project needs it.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The contract runs for up to six months from selection and can be extended up to 31 March of that year, based on performance and project funds.
• Co-terminus with the project: You get no right to permanent employment at MGMMC or to continue in any other project.
• Notice: Either side can end the contract early with one month's notice or one month's pay instead.
• Leave: You earn one day of paid leave for every completed month plus one weekly off; staying away for fifteen days without permission counts as abandoning the job.
• No extra benefits: Pension, GPF, PF and earned leave do not apply, no accommodation is provided, and no allowance is paid beyond the fixed salary.
• Full-time only: Private practice of any kind is not allowed.
• Affidavit and relieving letter: You sign an affidavit accepting the terms at joining; if you work elsewhere now, bring a relieving certificate.
• Experience certificates: Certificates issued after the advertisement date are not accepted, and experience counts only up to the day before the advertisement.
• Record checks: Candidates dismissed from government service or involved in a criminal or moral-turpitude case are not eligible.
• No TA/DA: Nothing is paid for attending the interview or exam, or for joining.
