WBSETCL CMO and Security Officer Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL), a Government of West Bengal enterprise, has released Employment Notification No. REC/2026/03 for two contract posts. The Chief Medical Officer post is for the Corporate Medical Cell, while the Special Officer (Security) post is for the Berhampore Transmission Zone. There is no written exam; selection will be through a personal interview at Vidyut Bhavan, Salt Lake, Kolkata.

The engagement is initially for 1 year and can be ended by either side with 1 month's notice or one month's pay in place of notice. For Special Officer (Security), extension may be considered from time to time based on performance, physical fitness, mental alertness, and company decision, up to the applicable age limit of 65 years. This makes the notice useful mainly for retired officers who can immediately handle senior medical or field security responsibilities for WBSETCL.

Who Can Apply?

Chief Medical Officer

• Qualification: You need an MBBS degree from a recognised university approved by MCI.
• Experience: You need at least 20 years of post-qualification experience in a government, semi-government, State PSU, or Central PSU organisation.
• Service level: You must have worked in the rank of Chief Medical Officer or above during your service period.
• Work focus: The role covers medical reimbursement review, company medical policy support, hospital service monitoring, recruitment medical check-ups, and Medical Board coordination.

Special Officer (Security)

• Service background: You must be a retired officer in the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police.
• Field experience: Your career should include work as OC, IC, CI, Zonal DSP, or SDPO in different capacities.
• Work focus: The role covers intelligence support, police liaison, field security supervision, theft prevention, security inspection, fire-fighting system monitoring, and support for transmission line work where right-of-way issues arise.
• Language: You must be able to read, speak, and write Bengali.

Age Limit

• Chief Medical Officer: Maximum age is 66 years as on 01 January 2026.
• Special Officer (Security): Age should be between 60 and 62 years as on 01 January 2026.
• Relaxation: WBSETCL may raise or relax the age or other criteria at its discretion.

Salary

• Chief Medical Officer: Consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 72,000.
• Special Officer (Security): Consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 50,000.
• Other benefits: Travelling allowance and daily allowance are available for official tours as per company rules.
• Leave and medical benefits: Selected candidates get casual leave, half-pay leave, compensatory casual leave where applicable, and self indoor medical benefit up to Rs. 50,000 in a year for a one-year engagement.
• Facilities: A CUG mobile connection will be allotted, and the Chief Medical Officer will get official car facility for residence-to-office travel and return.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

WBSETCL will select candidates through personal interview only. The interview will be held at Vidyut Bhavan, Salt Lake, Kolkata, and shortlisted applicants will be informed before the interview date.

2. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates must appear at their own cost because no TA or DA will be paid for the interview.
