WBSETCL Head IT Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL), a Government of West Bengal enterprise, has released Employment Notification No. REC/2026/02 for the apex IT position in the company. The selected candidate will join against a regular vacancy and will be on probation for 1 year, which may be extended based on performance and conduct. This role is meant for senior IT professionals who have handled large integration projects and SAP ERP implementation at leadership level.

WBSETCL is the State Transmission Utility of West Bengal and operates 169 substations from 66 kV to 400 kV with total installed capacity of 46477.60 MVA. The company has a transmission line network of 17286.811 ckm and reported more than 99.95% system availability. For an IT leader, this means the role is not a routine desk post; it supports a large power transmission network, enterprise systems, ERP work, website operations, security risk control, and future IT roadmap planning.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, IT, or Computer Science Engineering, or a Post Graduate Degree with specialisation in IT or Computer Science from a recognised Indian university or institute.
• Experience: You need at least 20 years of experience in managing large IT integration projects.
• Leadership level: You need at least 2 years at Additional Chief Engineer, Additional General Manager, or equivalent level in Government, PSU, or a similar reputed private sector organisation.
• Private sector condition: If you are from the private sector, your company or organisation should have annual turnover of at least Rs. 1000 crore.
• SAP ERP work: You need at least 5 years of end-to-end SAP ERP implementation experience, including solution, roll-out, and presentation to internal customers.
• SAP modules: You should have work experience in at least 3 SAP ERP modules from Material Management, Plant Maintenance, Project Systems, Finance and Controlling, and Human Capital Management.
• Preferred experience: SAP ERP implementation in 2 or more organisations will be preferred.
• Language: You must be able to read, speak, and write Bengali.

Age Limit

• You should be between 45 and 55 years old as on 01 January 2026.
• Relaxation: WBSETCL may relax the age limit for exceptionally qualified and deserving candidates.

Salary

• Pay band: Rs. 1,47,300 to Rs. 2,04,500 per month.
• House Rent Allowance: Rs. 16,000 per month.
• Other allowances: Dearness Allowance, Medical Allowance, Electricity Allowance, and Public Relation Allowance as per company rules.
• Other facilities: Annual increment of 3% per year, indoor treatment benefits for self and dependents, children education expenses, leave benefits, leave encashment, LTC, HTC, gratuity, EPF coverage, official car facility, and CUG mobile connection as per rules.
• Pay protection: For specially deserving candidates from Government, PSU, or public sector backgrounds, terms may be negotiable and pay protection with suitable enhancement may be considered.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

WBSETCL will select the Head IT candidate mainly through personal interview. If the number of applicants is too high, WBSETCL may use another suitable screening method before the interview.
