Vikram Dev University, Jeypore, Odisha has released Advertisement No. 910/VDU/2026 dated 10 June 2026 for temporary faculty engagement till regular posts are filled. The notice follows Government of Odisha Higher Education Department guidelines dated 1 February 2024 and UGC norms.

This is a walk-in faculty recruitment for departments such as Chemistry, Political Science, Economics, Physics, Home Science, Statistics, Anthropology, Mathematics, Sociology, Philosophy and Zoology. The selected faculty will teach on an honorarium basis, with continuation depending on workload, performance review and the regular recruitment process.

Subject schedule matters: Each department has a separate interview date and time, so you should check your subject before travelling to VDU Jeypore. Who Can Apply?

General Faculty Eligibility

• UGC norms: Qualification prescribed by UGC for the relevant faculty category will be followed.
• Retired faculty: Retired faculty may be from any government, aided or private higher education institution in India, with appropriate qualification.
• Guest faculty: Guest faculty can be considered against Assistant Professor vacancies as per the Government of Odisha guideline.

Professor of Practice

• Experience: Distinguished experts with at least 15 years of service or professional experience, preferably at a senior level, can be considered.
• Academic qualification: A formal academic qualification is not essential if the person has strong professional practice in the relevant field.

Adjunct Professor

• Qualification route: You should meet UGC or statutory council qualifications, or be a person of eminence with or without postgraduate or Ph.D. qualification.
• Ph.D note: Candidates without Ph.D. qualification are eligible for the second honorarium category listed by the university.

Age Limit

• Retired faculty may continue teaching till they attain 70 years of age, subject to review of satisfactory performance.
• No separate minimum age is mentioned in the notification.

Salary

• With Ph.D. for PG courses: Rs. 1,000 per class, up to 60 classes per month, maximum Rs. 60,000 per month.
• Without Ph.D. for UG/PG courses: Rs. 750 per class, up to 60 classes per month, maximum Rs. 45,000 per month.
• Workload rule: If more than 40 classes are taken in a month, the faculty member has to take administrative assignment from the next month as assigned by the university.
• No extra benefits: The guideline says no other allowances or financial benefits are allowed for retired teachers or guest faculty.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

VDU will select faculty through academic scoring, demo class, viva voce and document verification. The notice does not mention any written exam.

1. Document submission: Submit the filled bio-data in the prescribed proforma with all relevant documents in original and self-attested copies.
2. Academic record scoring: Graduation, postgraduate marks, M.Phil, Ph.D, NET/JRF/SLET/SET, publications and teaching experience are considered as per the scoring table.
3. Demo class and viva voce: The selection table gives 30 marks for demo class and viva voce.
4. Final verification: Original certificates and marksheets from HSC onwards are checked before the board.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
