TISS Programme Coordinator and Facilitator Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has released Advt. No. TISS/MWard/2026-27/01 for project staff under the Transforming M-Ward Project. This recruitment is linked to education support and community-led mangrove coalition work in M-Ward for the 2025-2027 project period. Both posts are temporary project staff roles, and the appointment is for 12 months with extension depending on project need and funding.
The work is based in Mumbai, especially around M-Ward, Trombay Koliwada, and areas connected with Thane Creek. This is a good opportunity if you want field-based project work that combines community engagement, research, climate concerns, education support, and documentation.
Project Context
TISS is a deemed-to-be university established in 1936 and funded by the University Grants Commission, Government of India. The Transforming M-Ward Project was started after the Human Development Report 2009 highlighted serious vulnerabilities in M-Ward, Mumbai. The project works with a transformative approach through multiple stakeholder partnerships, including community groups, local leaders, CBOs, NGO partners, and TISS teams.
The notice says around 160-180 students visit the M-Power Library and Study Centre daily. Many of them prepare for UPSC, MPSC, Railway Recruitment Board exams, Bank PO exams, diploma courses, graduation, and post-graduation. Along with the library and study centre, the project also runs field activities and community interventions, so the selected staff will need both research ability and ground-level communication skills.
