Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) Technical Advisor Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Office of the Deputy Director (South), Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali has released an advertisement for the selection of 1 Technical Advisor on a contract basis. The Advisor will support the Office of the Conservator of Forests and Director, SGNP Borivali, across three work streams: tourism and eco-tourism management, High Power Committee (HPC) work, and project and technical support. This is a retired officer position — only retired DFOs or Divisional Managers from the Maharashtra Forest Department can apply.

Who Can Apply?

  • Past Service: You must be a retired officer from the Maharashtra Forest Department or Maharashtra Forest Development Corporation Ltd.
  • Post Held: You should have retired from the post of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) or Divisional Manager (DM).
  • Experience: Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience in the Forest Department.

Salary

  • Consolidated monthly pay: Rs. 50,000 per month.
  • The amount is negotiable based on your qualification and experience.

Nature of Engagement

  • Engagement is on a contract basis for an initial period of 11 months, extendable.

Scope of Work

The Technical Advisor will support the Conservator of Forests and Director, SGNP Borivali, in three areas:

A. Tourism and Eco-Tourism Management

  • Plan and develop sustainable tourism infrastructure
  • Set up visitor management systems, carrying capacity assessment, and crowd regulation
  • Upgrade tourism facilities like entry gates, interpretation centres, safari management, and digital ticketing
  • Develop eco-friendly tourism models aligned with conservation goals
  • Improve visitor experience using smart technologies (QR systems, surveillance, guides, signage)

B. High Power Committee (HPC) Works

  • Follow up directives issued by High Power Committees and court-appointed committees
  • Prepare compliance reports, status notes, and Action Taken Reports (ATRs)
  • Provide technical scrutiny for encroachment management, rehabilitation planning, and eco-restoration
  • Help with documentation, data compilation, and presentations before authorities

C. Project and Technical Support

  • Prepare and vet DPRs, estimates, and technical proposals
  • Monitor project execution, timelines, and quality
  • Coordinate with government departments, consultants, and contractors
  • Assist in e-tendering, bid evaluation, and procurement

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Retired officer from Maharashtra Forest Department or Maharashtra Forest Development Corporation Ltd. (retired as DFO or Divisional Manager)

Required Skills

Forest management, tourism planning, project monitoring, technical proposal preparation, e-tendering, eco-restoration

Experience

10.0 - 12.0 years
