About This Job

State Bank of India (SBI) is hiring 100 Trade Finance Officers in the Specialist Cadre on a regular (permanent) basis at the Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II) level. If you are a graduate with IIBF Forex certification and have 2 years' experience in trade finance at a scheduled commercial bank, you can apply. State Bank of India (SBI) Specialist Cadre Officer Recruitment 2026 - 100 Posts

State Bank of India (SBI) has released advertisement no. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/05 for recruitment of Trade Finance Officers on a regular basis under the Specialist Cadre. The total notified vacancies are 100 posts (88 regular + 12 backlog) with suggested place of posting at Hyderabad and Kolkata. Selection is through shortlisting and interview only — there is no written exam. The post stays in the Specialist Cadre and will not be converted to General Cadre.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification (as on 30.04.2026)

  • Mandatory: Graduate in any discipline from a Government-recognised University or Institution.
  • Mandatory: Certification in Forex Operations from IIBF (certificate dated on or before 30.04.2026).
  • Preferred: Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS) / Certificate in Trade Finance / Certificate in International Banking — dated on or before 30.04.2026.

Experience (as on 30.04.2026)

  • Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience in Trade Finance processing in a supervisory or officer role at any Scheduled Commercial Bank.
  • Teaching and training experience will NOT be counted.

Specific Skills

  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and processing skills.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 23 years
  • Maximum age: 32 years (as on 30 April 2026)
  • Age Relaxation: OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years; SC/ST: 5 years; PwBD (UR/EWS): 10 years; PwBD (OBC): 13 years; PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years.
  • Cumulative age relaxation under different categories is not allowed.

Salary

  • Pay Scale: Rs. 64,820 - 2,340/1 - 67,160 - 2,680/10 - 93,960 (MMGS-II)
  • Starting basic pay: Rs. 64,820 per month
  • Maximum basic pay: Rs. 93,960 per month
  • Plus DA, HRA, CCA, Provident Fund, NPS (Contributory Pension Fund), Leave Fare Concession (LFC), Medical Facility, and other perquisites as per Bank rules
  • Probation period: 6 months

Selection Process

Selection is on the basis of shortlisting and interview. There is no written exam.

  1. Shortlisting: The shortlisting committee will decide the parameters and call adequate candidates for interview. Meeting the minimum eligibility does not give an automatic right to interview.
  2. Interview: Total 100 marks. The qualifying cut-off will be decided by the Bank.
  3. Merit List: Final merit prepared in descending order of interview marks. In case of a tie, the older candidate gets preference.
  4. Document Verification at the time of interview.
  5. Medical Examination before joining.

Responsibilities

  • Scrutinise Letters of Credit, Collections, Bank Guarantees, and other trade finance documents for compliance with Bank, RBI, ICC, and FEDAI guidelines
  • Support and guide junior staff at CPC, front-office at branches, and customers on trade finance matters
  • Process trade finance and forex transactions at a centralised location within the benchmarked Turnaround Time (TAT)
  • Reconcile trade finance and forex entries in the Bank's Trade Finance, Forex, CBS, IDPMS, and EDPMS systems
  • Track maturities, follow up on payments, and complete customer reconciliations on time
  • Participate in RCSA, BCOR, process reviews, and training activities
  • Ensure timely submission and compliance of all audit reports
  • Any other back-office task related to SBI's Trade Finance and International Business operations
