About This Job

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is holding a walk-in selection for Diploma Apprentice Training 2026 at its Technical Training Institute, Bengaluru. If you have a 3-year Diploma approved by DTE in one of the listed streams, you can attend the walk-in on 18 June 2026. The training period is one year under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS). Selected apprentices will get a monthly stipend of Rs. 10,900.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Diploma Apprentice Recruitment 2026

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. HAL Technical Training Institute, Bengaluru is conducting this selection drive for diploma holders under NATS, administered by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BoAT), Southern Region. This is a walk-in apprenticeship opportunity; the notice does not mention a fixed vacancy count and says selection is subject to available slots.

For students, this means the training is meant for practical exposure inside HAL's technical environment, not a permanent job notice. The PDF says HAL has 20 Production/Overhaul/Service Divisions, 10 co-located R&D Centres, and one Facility Management Division across India. The selection venue is the Bengaluru training institute, so you should plan travel and documents around this single reporting window.

Diploma Streams Covered

The official notice lists the following diploma streams for the walk-in selection:

  • Aeronautical / Aerospace / Aviation / Avionics
  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) - three-year course approved by DTE
  • Mechanical / Industrial / Production / Mechatronics / Metallurgy & Material Science / Tool and Die Making
  • Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Instrumentation
  • Computer Engineering / Computer Science & Technology / Computer Science and Engineering / Information Science & Technology / Information Technology
  • Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Tele-Communication
  • Civil / Chemical Engineering
  • Commercial Practice / Library & Information Science

The notification does not give stream-wise vacancy numbers. Selection will depend on available apprenticeship slots at HAL.

Because the seats are not pre-published, treat this as a document-ready walk-in drive. Your diploma stream must match one of the streams listed above, and your records should clearly show your semester marks, provisional or final diploma certificate, and NATS registration details.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must have passed a diploma in the relevant engineering or listed diploma stream.
  • Institute recognition: Your diploma must be from a recognised university or institution in India.
  • Passing date: You should have obtained the diploma on or after 01 August 2021.
  • NATS rule: You should not have already undergone, be undergoing, or be registered under a NATS apprenticeship contract elsewhere.
  • Experience rule: Candidates with one year or more work experience are not eligible.

Keep the eligibility dates in mind before you travel. The key filter is that your diploma should be dated on or after 01 August 2021, and you should not have one year or more work experience. If you already started or registered for another NATS contract, this HAL walk-in is not meant for you.

Stipend

  • Monthly stipend: Rs. 10,900 for 12 months of apprenticeship training.
  • Government share: 50% of the stipend amount will be borne by the Government as per existing guidelines.
  • Facility: Subsidized canteen facility is available.

Application Fee

  • No application fee is mentioned in the official notification.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in selection.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection process is based on merit and walk-in reporting order:

  4. Merit and Slot Availability: Selection is based on merit, first come first served basis, and available apprenticeship vacancies.
